Almost DEILD success?
So last night I successfully remembered 8 dreams! A couple of those were snippets, but I still remembered :). And after almost each one I woke up from it. It started when I practiced WBTB. Went to sleep at 9pm, woke up at 1:30 and layed in bed until I remembered a very long dream. Went back to sleep after about 10-15 min and woke up at 4 and wrote down a few dreams. Again went to sleep about 15 min after that and woke up at 5:16 and wrote down dreams. Went to sleep 10 min later and finally woke up at about 10 min til 6am (when I wanted my alarm to go off anyway) and wrote down whatever I could remember. Wasn't not lucid whatsoever, but I repeated my mantra ("I am dreaming") every time I went back to sleep. I honestly think I'm getting closer.

What you did is a great way to improve your recall, however, waking up that often can take its toll on your sleep so don't do it too often. Repeating a mantra while falling asleep is a good way to ensure you'll achieve lucidity via MILD, make sure you follow the right steps when trying to DEILD and I'm sure you'll make it soon.

Congrats, you're almost there. Noticing yourself waking up naturally is very hard, and once you start learning to do that, the rest will be easier. Batte87 is right, try not to wake-sleep-wake-sleep too much.
Now all you need to do is recognize when you're waking up again, stay still (or with minimal movement) with eyes closed, and try to reenter the dream. :) good luck

I like to do this on lazy weekend mornings. Doze in and out of sleep for an hour or two, stacking up piles of crazy dreams. I haven't had enough time to sleep in lately :(

Great job, however it seems you are not practising DEILD. I think you mean DILD.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, me waking up at 1:30 for WBTB was the only time I had woken up on purpose. The other times I woke up were just naturally...which was kind of annoying, though. And I guess I quickly wrote down my dreams before going back to sleep because I didn't want to forget them although I have heard of just lying still and trying to get lucid that way. About to climb into bed here pretty soon and I won't set any alarms this time. We'll see what happens!

Was way too tired last night to even meditate and I only remembered two dreams. Oh well!

Not every night needs to be a night where you try to achieve lucidity :) I actually got great results from trying it twice or thrice a week at most. I used to walk around and look forward to Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. They were my "lucid days" and I'd just prepare for them. Makes them more special. I still wrote down my regular dreams during the weekday.

That is true. Because for a month or so when I didn't focus on even trying to lucid dream, I would have more vivid dreams to the point where I could feel the sensation of touch in a few of my dreams. I'll let tonight be one more night to try since I don't have to wake up early at all tomorrow, then have a weekend break :)
