Hi Dareloth. It's great to see that you haven't given up completely!
You probably have tried it, but would you be interested in practicing DEILD? It doesn't require much preparation before bed. The thing is that you just have to train yourself to notice when you're starting to wake up in the night, lay still (or move as little as possible), and try to maintain awareness as you reenter the dream. Plus, if the DEILD attempt fails, you can still DILD.

As for the journalling, you don't have to write down a lot. I personally don't write down my dreams in the short night awakenings. When I wake up in the night, I use some mnemonics, or try to remember the most significant part of the dream I just had. It's only when I finally wake up in the morning that I try to recall them. [Also, when my recall sucks, I tell myself that if I couldn't remember the dream, it probably just wasn't awesome enough! Lol.]
Btw, you could still try some supplements if they worked for you before. I guess it can't hurt, right?
Good luck!
