Inception.
So I just watched Inception. CRAZY.
Having not had a lucid dream myself just yet, I went into a whole new state as soon as the movie finished. I was about to post a facebook status about it, but that's when it hit. What if I am dreaming? What if this isn't reality? Even now as I type this, I still wonder. I am more aware of everything that is going around me right now. Is this what it is like to question your reality while lucid dreaming? Is there this strong of an urge to wonder?
I have done reality checks in the past and I always thought I did a good job at them. Apparently not. Right now, I am questioning everything around me with every sense and every nerve-ending in my body. As soon as I'm done with this post, I will exit out of this screen and log back in just to see if it's there. I will go downstairs and cook myself some food because I feel myself getting hungry. What will happen when I go to sleep tonight? Will I wake up in my true reality?
That movie was seriously a mindfuck. Glad I bought it.

How are you doing your reality checks? Personally, I pinch my nose and try to breathe through it. If I can, i'm dreaming. HOWEVER, you actually have to believe you can breathe through your nose. Don't just make it a habit, be aware every time you do a reality check! If you just do a reality check and don't actually think/believe, it will not work when you do one in an actual lucid dream.
Although Inception is a great movie, it is not entirely accurate when it comes to lucid dreaming, of course. :)
Good luck getting lucid!

Thank you for your reply!
I figured it wasn't entirely close, but I'm glad I at least have a better sense of it. I try to put my finger through my hand and breathe through my nose. Before, I honestly did it halfway and thought I was doing it well. But then the movie made me question my reality and that's when I knew that that is what it should feel like when doing a reality check.

The breathing in through pinched nose reality check is my favorite. It has been very reliable for me.

Yes, it should feel like that! Those sound like awesome reality checks.
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks everyone! I will for now make sure I practice my reality checks with better purpose.
