mine used to just stare at me like a deer in headlights, but since i had an incredible experience about two years ago now.. they continue to have their own personalities and talk to me and seem to be much different than before.
ok, GO!!
What incredible experience was it?
I've only told my DCs they are in a dream once, everyone told me "No."
ok. so i was on a roadtrip around the USA, and I was visiting a friend in Texas. He did not know that I was a lucid dreamer, but he had made this seven pointed star out of clay with two weird lumpy things inside it. still not sure those were. I asked him about it and he told me it was the "instrumentality" and touching it or even coming close to it "unlocks your dreams"... ever since that time I have had much different experiences in lucid dreams. my dream guide came to me and taught me "words of power" that I can't remember during waking life. My dream characters act much much different now. more like real people and less like shells of people. I know it is weird and probably doesn't make much sense. Perhaps just hearing him say that and my belief in it is what caused the shift?
They freaked out. I had a FA. And not an annoying one where I wake up in my bed. I was in a shop and did an RC and ordered dinner.
Normally I don't really notice anything out of the ordinary, but that's probably because I often walk away and go do something different.
One time...
Me: OMG I'm dreaming! Hey hey this is a dream!
DC: What?! This is a dream?! OMG I'm dreaming! Yay!

It seems like the DC thought he became lucid too. Lol
DCs are weird.
For instance: one convinced me that it was morning and that it was time to get up. I started losing the dream and didn't stabilize and BOOM! I wake up at 3 in the morning. :(
When I told my DC's it was a dream before my restart they all reacted differently depending on the level of lucidity. If it was low I sometimes wouldn't even get noticed or I would get "is this guy for real?". But when my lucidity levels were high I always got either "yeah I know it is now go and have fun!" Or "well obviously!" It's funny how when I'm fully lucid my brain accepts it but when I'm barely lucid my brain doesn't accept it at all :content:
Maybe it was a shared dream!
One time. I became lucid when I was hanging out with my friend. When I became lucid I turned to him and yelled: S this is a lucid dream. he just stared at me. I yelled again, and he kept staring at me. So I was like: hell with it, I'am not gonna waste my lucid time and went to do other things :P
One of my best friends told me I was crazy, this other girl thought she was dreaming as well (when she saw me do the nose plug RC she placed her hands over her ears and the light suddenly dimmed. She seemed to believe this was another legitimate RC...), and in another dream some of my friends who have attempted lucid dreaming both thought they were dreaming too.
From what I have heard, most people's DC's deny they are in a dream. They try to persuade the dreamer they are not dreaming and go crazy. XD
Mine pretty much react the same way as paigeyemp's do for the most part!
Me and a DC (old lady at a market stall)
Me: Have I not seen you before? Yeah, it was during a dream, THIS IS A DREAM!
DC: Yes we have met before and yes you are in a dream.
- Now we have a conversation about the last dream we met in -
During the conversation I slowly let my awareness slip away.
She talked me out of a lucid, stupid old ladies, always keeping you up with their damn stories...
Mine are really smart. They always try to convince me of things. Like in this dream:
Moon Sharing - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
They told me I was at a dream sharing moon! It was crazy. :)
For me they usually act like it's no big deal and they continue on like nothing even happend.
Now if someone said I was apart of their dream I would freak hahaha! ;)
There is a series of videos by Reece Jones called the "5 Layers of a Lucid Dreams" and they explain about different levels of lucidity and how it changes the way DC's respond and act. It's a really amazing video IMO and I recommend it to any LDer.
I'll have to watch that sometime! :)
Thinking about it now isn't Reece Jones the man with the long hair?
MarineRecon: Yes, that would be him!
Yes, you should check them out, they are really good. He is a skilled oneironaut. :)
^And that may be an understatement!
where can i see these videos by reece jones? do i have to rent or find some download or do you think they are on youtube? gee maybe i should just google it.
one time i asked a DC if they were real
they just sort of looked away and whispered "is he real?"
its like they are a part of you. so if you tell them you are in a dream. its like you are telling yourself you are in a dream. at least sometimes. in other dreams, i feel like i'm part of something larger and perhaps the DC's are their own separate entities. or maybe i'm just losing my mind. either way its pretty darn fun!
He has his own Youtube channel but never posts there anymore. This is his "Layers of a lucid dream."
The 5 Layers of a Lucid Dream - YouTube
cool, thank you @brandonboss
will definitely be checking this out!
I got lucid and I said: 'omg I'm dreaming, awesome'. The DC replied: Do I look like I care? Let me finish my cake. That was hilarious xD
