      Lucid dreaming goals for 2013

      Hey all,

      I don't often post here, i'm more of a reader/lurker.
Just interested what everyone's lucid dreaming goals are for 2013, not just the goals for in the dream but anything else you've got planned. Like changes in your daytime dream training, things you're going to buy/try etc. Thought it would be useful for us to share these things, we may get inspired by each other!!

Mine so far (will post more as i think of them!):

      Meditate daily.
Try to sort out my sleeping patterns.
Do more research into LDs from sources other than just DV (it is awesome though!) and ETWOLD (awesome but a bit dated)
      Buy a new bed!!!
Try some time travel in my LDs

      Good thread

Let's just say that I want to continue to explore the consciousness and if I compare lucid dreaming with water and let's say that conscious dreaming is a little lake, then my goal is to really find my scuba gear and go further down the ocean than ever before!

The goal you have choosed are really good ones. A new bed can make wonders and meditation will make wonders.

Happy new year to you in advance! ^-^

      Cool

I'm actually quite stoked about 2013 (assuming the world doesn't end before then )
Nice ideas so far, shame more people haven't shared theirs yet, I'll keep the ball rolling and share some more of mine:

*I've decided to keep a video dream journal, probably private (I doubt i'm a pretty sight first thing in the morning) but I think that'll give me some interesting info about my dream life.

*Also going to buy this book, as i've heard some good things about it on the grapevine: Are You Dreaming? Exploring Lucid Dreams: A Comprehensive Guide. Book Trailer - YouTube
(plus if nothing else I can't get that tune out of my head so I may as well put it in yours too!! haha )

*I also want to meet more LDers in real life! loads of my friends show an interest but no-one seems to have the same passion that we all share here (any ideas on how to go about this would be great!)

*Going to steal Gabs idea and do more exercise too, i'm pretty fit but may as well try harder!!! lol

*Want to try some of the less common LD techniques too, never know may learn something!

      Ok... any more ideas peeps?

In ETWOLD Laberge talks specifically about conquering stage fright.

I hope to continue as I am.

Hoping to find another 100% method for myself that doesn't require as much time.
(Close to 8 hours of sleep regularly, if I am going off of less the night before then it drops down to 14.28% of the time.)

      Of course meditate more.
      (Does everyone here love meditating?)

Have 365 LDs for the year.

-Spend more time on DV (Adding to my dream journal, posting more, etc.)
-Experiment a little with things considered 'Beyond Dreaming'. (Healing within lucid dreams in particular.)
-Learn as much about WILDing as I can and find out what the best and easiest way to WILD is.

It is okay, I like questions, they make me think a lot, which makes me question my techniques and think about what I actually do before I go lucid, which raises awareness.

I just started meditating a month or so ago, so I am not really good at it, but I would recommend Sivason's dream yoga class, it has a lot of interesting things, I am not signed up though . I would say the best thing is to meditate before you go to sleep and if you wake up in the middle of the night meditate for a few minutes if you aren't trying to DEILD (so for you, for instance would do this if the DEILD fails or if you have to pee. ). I like meditating for about 10-20 minutes because it doesn't take too much time but really raises awareness, and since lucid dreaming is all about awareness (being aware when you are dreaming ) I think that it is beneficial to do when you wake up in the night as well.

As I said, I am just a beginner, if you want more tips you should ask Sivason or Mastermind. I don't know anyone else that meditates regularly, but I am sure there are more of them.

When meditating at night I just wake myself up a little and then meditate while laying down, so that I do not disturb my wife. I also meditate like this when I am originally going to sleep.

      Dream Yoga (Sivason)

My goal this year is for longer, more frequent LDs with better control! I want to eventually learn to DEILD too.

You need more confidence! You will learn DEILD next year! Also, people say that you should not try too many techniques, but I have found that for DEILD it is really just something you can try at the end of LDs without adding a bunch of time or complicating things. This is easier than just trying to do it from a normal dream, so I think that it is a pretty good start if you do not want to get into a full fledged DEILD craze.

I took a long time to do it because of the same reasons. I started in June (didn't really start having good LDs until August when I started my DJ though) and I just started meditating about a month and a half ago. It is helpful

Learn to master MILDs, I still haven't had a lucid yet, but I'm trying really hard to get at least one before the end of the month. If I can do that, I can do anything.

The first few months are hard! Do as much research as you can and make sure you know the technique very well before you try it. Good luck.

Practice doesn't make perfect, but it does make permanent.

      Let's see:

-Go to bed at the same time every night.
-Find/make an audio reminder cue that's subtle enough that it won't just wake me up.
-Get really good at using the Singularity Experience app for iOS.
-Get my hands on one of Ev's (the app developer's) special device-holding wristbands, if possible.
-Develop my dream scene control skills to the point where I can achieve the goals in my signature.

      Out of dream goals:
-fix my sleep schedule (college time)
-further my awareness (just got some new books in the mail)

      In dream goals:
-Finish the log cabin I'm constructing in Greenland
-Bring my dog back to life
-Lead the world to become at least a tier one civilization (this may take some work )

      Semi-related goals:
-get back to working out every day (to fall asleep easier)
-get back to taking Yohimbine HCL daily (mind-wakefulness while falling asleep)
--It's a great combo for WILDing

I just had a look at the website from your video thanks for sharing! I'm always on the look out for new books on lucid dreaming and that one looks great! So I guess I have something else to add to my new years resolution (and shopping) list! haha

Also I decided i'm going to buy myself a night vision camera for NY and film myself sleeping!

You guys all have some great ideas! Let me think about mine for a bit..

      - Definetly want to figure out what I want to do (I keep switching between DEILD and WILD)
      - Stick to a technique I think looks promising for at least a month to see if it yields good results
      - Write in my DJ EVERY DAY! (I've been slacking off waaay too much)
      - Get on DV more (Be more active!)
      Follow your dreams.

      DILD - 50 | DEILD - 3 | WILD - 1 | MILD - 1

      Previous Goal: Air bend
Main Goal: Find my Dream Guide

DEILD is a WILD technique. But what I really want to say is why not practice WILD when you forget to not move and when you do WBTB, and DEILD when you remember?

Dang it. I forgot to write my dreams down today. Thanks for the reminder. I had a very nostalgic dream I will want to remember.
