I'm back into LDing after about a two year hiatus and I have some concerns.

I have a job now that requires me to be at work at five o'clock in the morning. I still do manage to dream and remember my dreams, but I am afraid it may not be enough sleep to achieve Lucidity. Anybody have any tips or suggestions?

Also, a bit off topic, but I kind of have to start from square one. I have to gain the ability to remember my dreams nightly and keep a DJ, in some time, I will start RCing, etc. I am kind of a newbie again. When I was into LDing before, I was on the verge too. I would have dreams in which i would say out loud that I was dreaming, but it wouldn't set anything off in my conscious mind. It was kind of just part of the dream. Hoping to be able to reach full fledged lucidity soon. Thanks for your help in advance and any words of encouragement are greatly appreciated.

If you were doing the RC in your dream but not becoming lucid, it could be because RCing just became a habit for you and you did it, without thinking deeply, just to say the words and do the actions. To make them more useful, I have heard you need to really concentrate. But then again, I'm not exactly qualified to talk about DILD or RCing, just saying what I've heard.

Getting up early should not be a problem, as long as you still get enough hours of sleep. You may need to adjust your sleep schedule to go to bed earlier, so you get some quality sleep. Then, I don't see any reason, why you should not be able to have LDs.

Even if you may not have time for a WBTB, you can do a mini-WBTB. When you use the restroom at night, take few minutes to just sit on your bed and do few RCs+mantras. And then repeat your mantra as falling asleep. This should give you a better chance at DILD.

As Berto says, RCs can become a rutine and then they lose effectivness. Best way to RC is to use it together with daytime awareness and emotions. You ask yourself an awareness question "Am I dreaming?", that stops you in your tracks and for a moment you believe, that indeed, you are in a dream. You examine your surroundings, then you RC and repeat your mantra. Here is Collection of techniques for DILD. There is also info about dream journal and recall, mantras, daytime awareness.

Having not much sleep should not be that much of a problem i think, As long as you'll have motivation and practice regularly you should be able to do it. ;)
Also it's pretty common to have non-lucids related to lucid dreaming as far as i know, i have even had some dreams where i was attempting to WILD. :wtf:
