How do you know a DC is a DC and not someone trying to reach you?
An ordinary DC usually is very sarcastic in a personality kind of way, for example you need help in a dream and ask a DC for help and it says nothing back and looks at you odd. Which happened to me many times asking a dc for help and they are cold often times.
Actual person or being in a dream usually stands out from other DCs, looks at you like it knows what it sees, and actually does something with you and participates. Which i have many times, conversations and intimate situations with a guy that i know, often visits me.
My problem is that in the dreams that I remember, I am not lucid. I've had an FA where it was pretty questionable where someone was calling me and waking me up. They were in a white van driving around my house. It was a perfect time to be lucid but I couldn't get over that overwhelming instinct to fight.
False awakening.
My problem is not being lucid.
Always assume that when you wake up it's probably an FA, and always do RC's. That way when it really is an FA you'll become lucid. Then, problem solved!
I'll have to give that a try.
Regarding what you wrote about DCs, a person who might be inside your dream but not being a DC would often feel as tho that person is out place, there would be a strong, weird feeling of intrusion in your dream(kinda like let's say you return to your home, you know u turned off all the lights and locked the door, but when you come the door is unlocked and all lights in your house are turned on), hence why it is always important to note your feelings in dreams. I believe that DCs of each person tend to be different, Hathor28 writes hers tend to be cold, while mine on the other hand are too much chatty and helpfull and always buting in everywhere,so I would emphasize the need to focus on the feelings, since we do not know how to categorise and generalise your DCs.
As for the False Awakenings, like Darkmatters said, Reality checks are the way to go, no matter how certain you are you are not in a FA, do it anyways. In these cases I used to try to talk to people around me, knowing my DCs typical behaviours and tried to come to realisation that way, until I was stuck in a FA for a whole blody day.
this thread just confuzzled me lol :boggle:
well yes an ordinary dc for me also annoys me and buds in, starts fights etc, anything negative.Quote:

Not all DCs are ordinary though, some DCs, most likely people that you care about and recurring DCs can become somewhat more than just DC. :poof:
