Hello, this is my third night dreaming and I would like to ask if it is normal to have about 3 dreams per night! I did wake up after each dream and then went back to sleep(about 7-8am). Thanks in advanced
P.S. Sorry if I am spamming the forums with questions but I can't wait for my first lucid dream! :P
You probably have more than three dreams, but you only remember those three. I've read that you can have anywhere from like five to twenty five dreams per night. But who knows where those statistics came from.. Maximum I've ever remembered was ten dreams in one night/morning. Oh and good luck with your lucid dreaming. :)Quote:

We all have much more than 3 dreams per day/night, it is just that we often can't recall them all, i usually can recall from 2 to 5 dreams per day/night, unless my dream recall goes horrible for no reason, which happens sometimes. :-?
It is hard to say how many dreams are possible throughout the night. Also depends on your definition of dream.
The least amount people could say is the highest amount would probably be for like a 12 hour sleep with 8 REM cycles. They could say "8 dreams is the most"
This is wrong though... Because we dream in NREM as well. Which means that it is really impossible to tell how many dreams it could be. Would it change every NREM cycle? You could also change dreams mid REM cycle. Or if you wake up in the middle of it and go back to sleep (split the REM cycle) If you add all that into account, you could say that we dream all through the night and can have infinite number of dreams. This is all my opinion. :)
This is not meant to discourage, but to encourage. You can't hit a limit on dream recall unless WILD the whole night through. So you can always have a "greater goal"
On another note, 3 dreams a night very impressive! You may pat yourself on the back. :) you rock. It takes most people a long time to get that high.

You can have multiple of dreams every night. We go through 90 min dream cycles, each one made up from NREM and REM. In each REM, you can have multiple of dreams.
