Lucidity doesn't end with waking up?

Now, this idea been bothering me for a very long time. It is common among lucid dreamers to assume that their lucidity ends with waking up. Pretty much when the dream fades it's over.

I think it is a misconception as I've reentered lucid dreams many times over.

Right now I'm interested if *anyone else* did the same thing : reentered or revived the lucidity shortly *after* waking up in real life. If you did so, please describe the methods you used...
Is the concept of reentering lucidity reliable enough to be taught to newbies?

I've re entered non lucid dreams in the past...where i've woken up, written it down, and then gone right back into it. But it was non lucid, so i'm not sure it's gonna count.
And i'm not sure how the hell i did it either...

Yeah, sure, I actually do it all the time. Just use WILD or something that looks like it, its actually very easy to do it at the moment of awakening :) For me anyway..I'm not sure how you all experience that, but it seems WILD is the easiest to do when you just woke up from another dream. :D

I think it depends on how awake you are. If you wake up completely, ie draw the curtains and get up, then I think it would be very difficult to get back to the dream.

If you're still in bed, warm and comfy and still half-asleep, I at least find it very easy to reenter the dream I was just having. I'm not sure how exactly to explain it - but you aren't too far from dreaming already, and in that state it's not difficult to just drift a little towards it.

I agree with tanaqui, if I lie there still enough, I am able to reenter, either by an abbreviated WILD or MILD.

I can usually do this if there is not too much distraction going on around me, I.E. kids banging around the house, birds singing and such.

I've found though, if I leave the gray area of barely being awake, then it becomes quite difficult.

i've only done it once and it was by accident. it was basically just a WBTB, except the part of actually getting out of bed. I forced myself awake(nightmare) and then went back to sleep and found myself in the same setting

Ok, so it is possible to enter lucidity and most of you find it somewhat easy to do.
Right now, most tecniques (like MILD, WILD, HILD , etc) are designed and practiced *before* the person experiences a dream.

What about the different approach- *after* the dream is over and the person wakes up? What if we combine the techniques for attaining lucidity and reviving lucidity together... and create a set of techniques that will encompass the whole cycle of dreaming and will tackle the problem of approaching lucidity from *both* ends?
Do you think it will be more effective?

For example the classical MILD approach: "Next time I'm dreaming , I'll realize that I'm dreaming".
Slightly altered it will look something like "Next time I'm dreaming I'll realize I'm dreaming, Next time I'll wake up I'll reenter the dream lucidly". Sure it is slightly more complicated, but it offers twice as much chances to achieve lucidity! Plus it utilizes one undeniable fact: person *will* wake up from a dream!

Well woulint this be conciderd MILD? if you go back in the dream you just had and become lucid that way i think is conciderd MILD the way to do it is thought the last steps of MILD. thats how I got a low lvl lucid today and it goes well with my sleep habits :D i always wake up half asleep and today i tryed MILD.
