Seeing Elizabeth Taylor ( I hope this is in the right thread)

Hello dreamviews and the Lucid Dreaming community. I have been dreaming all of my life, I've even been written up for daydreaming in third grade by my teacher lol! I had no idea what lucid dreaming was until a couple of years ago when a college mate told me about his flying dreams and his love of all things Harry Potter. My dreams have been so real that I have tried to wake myself up, realizing that I am dreaming and my body is still asleep and literally lying awake ( it may not sound scary but I have experienced this since I was very young and I am in my 30's).

Anyway, I have seen the late legendary screen actress Elizabeth Taylor in my dreams, including daydreams and while sleeping (lucid dreams). They mostly include me looking into a mirror and seeing her instead of my own reflection. On several occasions she was wearing a white dress, then a black gown; then on one special occasion she wore the costumed garb from one her most well known (notorious film due to the controversy with her and Richard Burton on the set) films: Cleopatra.

Well, around this time last year I became very ill. I started having tremors on the left side of my body, black outs, light sensitivity, seizures, nausea. Doctors said it was side effects from being off anti-depressants but everything in me was saying that was bullshit. Meanwhile, the dreams with Dame Taylor were becoming more and more real- so I became obsessed with her life. I read biographies about her and I do see some similarities between her and myself; well, I am not a glamorous movie star, but I have had several illnesses as a child like she has, we were born in the same month ( boy would I love at least 1/10th of that jewelry collection) there's more than that but I don't want to get too personal about family details. However, about her long stretches in various hospitals is what stood out- one time in particular, she had a brain tumor, pneumonia and meningitis at the height of her career. I don't know why this was so significant to me but it just makes sense to me. The truth of the matter is I have known for a while that I have at least two benign brain tumors ( brain stem and one at the top of my head) and possible a couple of polyps but I am broke, no insurance, unemployed and living with my mom at this time.

I know this is a novel I am writing right now but what I really want to know is ... how can I purposely talk to Elizabeth Taylor in my dream to get answers about my current issue/ problem(s). ( I am also going to a neurologist, so I am not just relying on dreams to solve health problems but honestly, my intuition is more helpful than the doctors at this point). Any thoughts or tips will be appreciated.

That's a heavy story right there, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Have you had your head examined for brain tumors? As for meeting Elizabeth in a dream it's fully possible. Just shout out her name and she'll appear around the corner. I wish I could tell you that you'll get some real answers to your questions but I'm not a true believer of Dream Guides (as representations of our subconsciousness) nor Spirit Guides. You should try it out but I don't think you'll get any help from that.

I think you may get help if your subconscious has some insights into your problems that your conscious mind does not, then if you succeed in talking with Elisabeth Taylor you may get an important piece of the puzzle.

I am very glad that you are seeing a doctor, and are not using self-exploration as a substitute for medical care. However, there are times when people have made strides in diagnosing their problems, which were later confirmed by doctors. If you think about it, you spend way more time trying to diagnose yourself than your doctor can, and you likely can discover symptoms which you forgot to tell your doctor about because your conscious mind was not yet aware of their significance, but your subconscious may have started putting two plus two together.

My father once self-diagnosed himself with pneumonia. He had been to a doctor, but the doctor had completely failed to correctly identify the symptoms for the correct diagnosis. Then my father thought about it, figured out that pseumonia was likely. He went to a doctor, and the doctor at first refused to do a chest X-ray and said the insurance would not cover it. The doctor's attitude changed when the chest x-ray confirmed pneumonia.

A woman I knew probably saved her daughter's life because her instincts told her to not ignore a really bad feeling she had about a bump in her daughter's nose. The first doctor she saw said it was nothing to worry about. She sought a second opinion, and insisted that they do a test of this bump. Her insurance company called her to say that they would refuse to cover such a test because it went against doctor's recommendations. The test results proved a malignant tumor, and the girl started chemotherapy.

In both of these cases people used their own insights in combination with doctors and medical tests to improve diagnosis. And I do believe that lucid dreaming could be a tool to enhance such insights, to bring facts known to your subconscious out in the open.

And if Liz Taylor is your way of achieving that, I think having a conversation with her in a lucid dream may be worth a try.
