Ask Your Inner Self?

I have not yet attained lucidity and have remembered what I wanted to do. When the time comes that I attain lucidity and remember what I want to do, I will ask my inner self questions. I've read you can shout out to the dream in the dream a question such as "Show me something hilarious" and your inner self will present it to you. I have not yet had the chance to experience this phenomenon. When I do I plan on asking myself to tell me my purpose in life, my dream career, where I want to live, etc. Until that time comes I'd like to know if any of you have asked your inner self questions. If so please tell me what you asked, what the answer was, and how the answer was presented if you don't mind. I've heard stories of the questions being answered by a picture, telepathic voices, feelings, etc. Thank you.

Robert Waggoner in Lucid dreaming - Gateway to inner self talks a lot about this topic and he provides lots of detailed accounts of him or his students duing just that. If you have not read this book, I highly recommend it.

I have asked "show me something important for me to see". A light portal materialized high in the skies, but I woke up before I could get there.

Another time I asked I think the same question, and something like a scoreboard showed up with something written on it.

I have a whole list of things I wanted to ask:

- show me something important for me to see
- my purpose in this lifetime
- show me my most important/successful previous incarnation
- how to have more/longer LDs
- something beautiful
- what would my cats want me to know
- take me where I can learn
- teach me what I need to know
- take me somewhere interesting
- how to be a better person
- take me to nearest inhabited planet
