guessing you did try xD
Well, it is hard for a reason. It's a dream dude :D
Never thought of doing it when I was Lucid...
Yes. I know it's a dream. And i'm lucid too. But it's so confusing yet funny to do it. Try it next time. ;)
I frequently have my cell phone in my dreams, sometimes I don't even use it but sometimes I throw them at people. But yeah it never is clear like the screen will be very dim or it will be projected through a marble sphere coming from the screen, but I've made successful texts and phone calls :)
Oh yea, texts and numbers morph a lot in dreams because they are associated with our logic. Even when we get lucid, it can still be hard to override that if you dont have enough clarity of thought. x)
Maaaan try playing word search or sudoku! I did once, my head almost exploded out of confusion. Lol
I did this once. I played around with a couple apps, although finding what I wanted amongst the random icons was hard. The picture gallery gave me folders with random grocery items, but I don't remember what the pictures looked like. Google Maps wanted me to go through some set-up process. I went back to the main screen and wanted to try something else, but I got an error message with technical jargon and the phone shut itself off, haha.
In my case it was not a lucid dream, but in a no lucid I tried to call my husband to find out my address and how to get there from wherever I was. My iPhone had an app open which I out of some reson believed I had to exit before making a phone call. This app had an endless set of menus, with options such as "Exit?" and once I hit that I would get another menu and one of the options would be "Close" etc etc. very frustrating!
I was in a lucid and my phone rang. I tried picking it up, but some girl told me "those don't work down here". Haha. I would recommend using siri in the dream instead of buttons. This will make it easier to talk to people since you are just saying what you want. Or use the phone from total recall! That thing was awesome.
I actually had a dream last night (non lucid, but vivid) that an emp went off or something but I was in downtown Chicago and everything went silent. I checked my phone to see if it worked and just saw a meshed metal screen. I probably woulda gone lucid if my awareness was better because everything was vivid. Then maybe a month ago I had a lucid dream where I wanted to check my phone because I saw Matt's DJ about his experience (lol). So I looked at the screen and there was a red background and "samsung" in the middle then some weird lettering below it. Funny thing is I have an LG.
Had a scary FA where i didnt knew was i dreaming or not. Then my phone rang and i went to answer it and I asked was my dream guide calling. All i could hear was "ZHzhzSHZhzhs..." trough the phone.
I had a lucid dream about two weeks ago because during my dream I realised the cellphone I pulled out of my pocket wasn't mine. It was some silver early 2000's phone and I couldn't figure out how to text my friend. It was also irregularly skinny, like an electric toothbrush.
I had a non-lucid dream where I was using my phones Google Maps app to direct me to a hotel to meet some friends. The app looked like the normal Google maps but it had a giant blinking blue arrow pointing me in the direction I need to go. Its a shame with that error and the fact I was randomly in Las Vegas didn't trigger lucidity...it was very vivid though.
