Possible RC
So I was thinking about my normal reality checks and it occurred to me that I never look for any of my scars or tattoos while I'm dreaming. Does anybody know if things like piercings, scars, tattoos, etc. transfer to the dream state? If not it would be a simple reality check to make sure everything is there.

That could work if you actually expect them to not be there, similar as how 'looking at hands' reality check works, and i think i read about someone using reality check like that before.

Actually my most reliable RC is to check a tiny tattoo in my hand, when it's not there or looks different definitively it's a dream, I would say that it worked 98% of the times, although the most important thing for me is to be conscious of the fact that possibly it's a dream before any RC. When I didn't do that and RCed like a robot, it was very difficult for me to understand why it looked so weird, even a couple of times I thought that it was ok: It looked perfectly distorted! Basically I learned to use it as a way to confirm what I'm suspicious about when I don't have enough information.
So, make sure to be aware of the fact that possibly you are dreaming before any RC.

I suppose any reality check has equal chances of working, it all depends on you. I would suggest not doing RCs that are more visual in nature though. The thing is, visual RCs tend to be easily manipulated by the dream or subconscious and can be easier to miss. And even if you realize them, they might not have a bigger impact on you as say, when you plug your nose and can still breathe. I mean, the tactile reality checks personally work better for me because once they don't work, there is that bigger 'OH!' moment than when I would just see a body feature that is not normally there. But if it works well for you, go for it!
