Personality? Well, since personality does not tend to change from one moment to the other, but more from a lasting experience of events, it would be possible indeed to change your personality through your lucid dream adventures. For one, I've become much more calm and self-aware since I found lucid dreaming. I'm also more open-minded regarding experiences which I can't explain, like communicating with my sub-conscious through dream characters. You can't really go into a lucid dream and "turn" yourself into a zen person, or change an aspect of your personality in one night.
Do you have anything more specific regarding changing your personality, or are you talking in a general way?
PS: Moved to General Lucid Discussion.
Honestly, personality can be changed with a little effort and willpower on your part, in real life, outside a dream. I have done so myself. Whether or not it can happen in Lucid Dreams or not, putting in that effort, I think, in itself could help to change your personality.
Perhaps it could be easier in Lucid Dreams because you don't have the fear of failure or ridicule? Not that that is necessarily an issue, but I suppose it could be considered a "testing ground" of sorts?
I have heard stories of how you can help get over phobias in Lucid Dreams by exposing yourself to them. Well, this is perfectly possible and doable in real life as well, only it may be a little harder because you know there are real consequences. The same with changing your personality. Figure out how you would do it in real life, and give it a shot in a Lucid Dream for practice.
Those are my thoughts, anyway. Nothing scientific here. :P
EDIT: @Zoth, huh, that quote in your sig is very funny. :P Just noticed it.
@ Zoth agreed
@insanekid
Haven't seen you around, you have been signed up for a while. Nice to.meetcha! You seem to have more LD experience than 27 LDs. :P I take it you have been away from the site but still practicing?
@ Matthewr
In my opinion, personality is changed by experience and/or resolve. Experience happens naturally from day to day things and changes it sometimes without us knowing (note: growing up). Resolve comes after experience, but is harder because it doesn't happen naturally. Seeing someone or something that you want to be like can make you create a resolve, or something you really don't want to be like.
In a dream you could have an experience and find a dream character that has all the personality traits you love and wish you had. You could also create a DC with all the traits you don't want. Fast forward time and see how they adapt to all sorts of different environments and how the one you want to be like succeeds (may need tweaking ;)). This can strengthen your resolve by seeing how bad some things can be and how good others can be. :) Just my thoughts! Just some random ideas that I might try after reading this.
No its just a general question while reading about lucid dream on Google and there i read something about it..Quote:

You can always go ahead and explore it yourself. We have many people around with these experiences in which they want to alter aspects of themselves, or simply discovering them. It's a really interesting journey (because sometimes you find information you really don't expect to find :P), something that I think more people should take :)
@Brandon, Hah, thanks. I lurk around, just don't post much unless I think I can actually add to the conversation (with the exception of the occasional interest in off-topic when bored). I have more than 27, yes, though probably not too much more. I know a lot about dreaming, but becoming Lucid has always been extremely difficult for me. I take what I can get.
@Matt, I suppose that a lot of the time, it honestly just boils down to "Try it and find out!" Like Zoth stated, there have people with this ideas before you. They likely have things posted around these forums that you can learn from, there is so much interesting stuff that can be found here.
You definitely can change yourself, into anything you want. There's really no limits. Just picture who you want to be, imagine yourself as them. I remember as a kid I had a lucid where I would open a menu, so my vision became like a computer screen and there was a list of superheroes I could choose from. I'd pretend there was a keyboard infront of me and I'd hit enter. It'd go back to where I was and I'd be that hero. Was funny swinging around as spiderman! :D
In my dreams, I am more calm and collected than in real life, the cold, taciturn gentleman I always wanted to be, not the emotional person I am. So, yes. :)
