What would you say is the best method to make a "newbie" lucid dream.
I mean some what fairly easy with as little sleep loss as possible.
I just never heard or seen someone brining it up, so why not me?
I know that it's very individual with which you use, I'm kinda getting in to Dild and Mild since I can't really afford sleep loss.
What did you use when you started out?
The best method for a beginner is: perfecting the basics.
Lucid dreaming isn't something you master in a few weeks (but you probably already know that). The thing that many times even regular lucid dreamers sometimes forget is that without consistency in those small steps like performing reality checks, practicing dream recall, analyzing your dream journal, it's hard to progress in terms of lucidity. Don't be in a rush: these steps, although seemingly simple, are crucial. It's not by chance that they are also the hardest ones to implement on your daily habits: who hasn't complained about the need of writing down your dreams every single morning?
In the long run though, you will merely get lucids due a simple urge of questioning your state, which comes from the habit of reality checking. You will get lucids due a simple recall of something you are dreaming with and remember reading in your dream journal. You will get lucids due a simple reminder that you briefly woke up and got back to sleep just a few minutes ago. They count.
I had my first lucids with just a combination of reality checks, dream recall and intention before going to bed. Techniques are something you should invest in yes, but from day 1 don't forget to hit hard on the basics, don't forget to start/keep building the awareness of the self, because these habits eventually become a second nature.
Regarding the technique, try reading this guide by Mancon, not only it has information about the advantages and disadvantages of each one, but also provides you with links to more complete information in form of other guides. Try to pick the one who fits you the best ;)

Fairly easy with as little sleep loss??? I can't LD unless I sleep a lot! I don't mean a lot in one night, but as long as I sleep 7-8 hours in a night I consider that enough. Consistent sleep schedule is extremely important when LDing and I would recommend at least 8 hours of sleep a night! By sleep loss technique do you mean WBTB? Personally I would recommend just going to sleep 15 minutes earlier and doing a 15 minute WBTB. WBTB is the best supplementary technique out there and should not be ignored. :)
I practiced MILD (Mantra and RCs!) and WILD (not very good at that till lately, finally found the right anchor for it). I put as much effort into both as possible, and have had quite a few MILDs I added quite a few things to this, and it is a long journey :P. I am getting about 1 WILD a week (3 if you count DEILDs after MILDs).

I second what the experts say. All my Lucids have been DILDs. I have personally gotten Lucid both times I have ever tried WBTB so WBTB is highly recommended.

Yup, now that it is weekend I'm gonna try to WILD just seing how it turns out, the thing is that I wanna lucid dream even on school days but I really really can't afford losing any sleep then. That's why I don't wanna WILD or WBTB on school days. When I said little sleep loss I was more just striking out anyone from saying "Try WILD" :D
But maybe I should try WBTB tonight just to see how it works out.
some guy once told me to look at my hands for 5 to 10 mins asking my self if i was dreaming then go to sleep, it worked :D
I do it after around 4 hours sleep, then i sleep for more 3 / 4 hours. maybe you can try again with this timing :)Quote:

I think I agree that usually DILD is easier than WILD except when it is not. It's like for most people at most times getting into a house through the door is easier, but there are circumstances when it's easier to get in through the window after all. And when one method does not work, it is good to try another.
Ever since I came back to this hobby, I have been unsuccessful with DILD thus far, but succeeded at WILD once. Now I cannot reproduce that success for now, but I am confident that some method is going to eventually work as long as I have patience, perseverance, and confidence.
Btw, years ago I used to successfully DILD and never had a successful WILD. So the method that worked changed.
