Uncertain/Partial Awareness - Any comparable experiences?

I had a dream I became lucid, essentially. I remember within this dream, I was waking up in the passenger seat of a car. I performed a reality check by shutting my nose and attempting to breath. I remember trying a few times and eventually I was breathing. I then checked my hands and saw that they were quite blurry. The next thing I wanted to do was spin around or rub my hands together to stabilise, but all I think I did was "examine the dreamscape" out the car window.

I've had dreams in the past like this where I wasn't too sure I gained any true awareness or not, but I do remember performing reality checks. I haven't had a lucid I can remember significantly.

Although I may be wrong, i've concluded that this was something of a lucid except my awareness must have been extremely low. Any recommendations on what I should do next time I'm in a situation like this?

Overall awareness in non-lucid and lucid dreams always varies as well as the waking life memory that you regain in dream when becoming lucid. Though it sounds like you didn't regained much of memory and just went to do random stuff, i had the same problem in the past alot. To increase chances of regaining memory i would suggest writing/typing down your goals right before going to sleep and/or using them as mantra while falling asleep. :peek:
After you get memories properly while being lucid, stabilization technique should be good to go for raising awareness if it's low. ;)

i think you had a lucid dream but you didn't get up after wards and write down some keyphrases in your dream journal which you will learn to do in between dreams and therefore you memory of the event isn't quite what you want it to be. (btw, scary member photo dude!!! those eyes do not look happy lol...) to me this is just a matter of keeping on top of the dream journal entries.

As long as there was a moment where you knew you were dreaming, then it was lucid. There are many times when, aftering becoming lucid, it seems kinda light and the realization doesnt really sink in, i.e. you still have some slight fears and hesitations about doing things even though you know it's a dream. But that's only because your awareness is not quite high in the dream. I suggest that when you become lucid, ask yourself logical questions like who you are, your age, your family's name, some simple math calculations. Then stabilize :) good luck
