If Lucid Dreaming is all in our heads.................

Would we dream at all without External Stimuli ???. A strange question I know, but a friend of mine was in a car accident and was in a coma for a few weeks. I never got around to asking him if he dreamt or not.

OH great Question! I belive we would still dream if we were temporaily cut off fomr extrenal stimuli. We already know that when people are sensory deprived, they tend to hallcuinate after a while. Dream would be the same thing,. The dreams would become crazy and just nizzare, as the mind is trying so hard to make stimuli for us. Thats my oppion anyways.

i kind of forgot to make a post about this. I've wanted to question people who've been in a coma about if they dreamed and remembered them and if the dreams differed and such.

      Dreams in a Coma

I'm pleased to say this is the first topic I've been able to be helpful in. Congratulations will be taken, thanks.

See, several years ago, I was in a brief coma for nine days after a car accident. To tell the honest truth, I remember almost nothing of it. I have a hazy sort of memory of a dream in which all these people stood around something, talking, and I was watching them from above, and I couldn't get close enough to see, and I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I somehow knew that somebody had died.

The problem is, I don't know if I dreamt this during the coma, or in a period after I reportedly woke up and then slept again, but don't remember waking. So, I suppose it isn't really all that helpful. But it's better than nothing, right?
