What are your long term goals?

just wondering what your long term goals are for your lucid dreams

im very inexperienced at lucid dreaming atm (had 3 so far, and 2 have lasted for about 2 minutes each) but here are some of mine if i can increase my LD skill

      1) meet a DC that represents my subconscious and spend an entire LD learning stuff from it

      2) survive a zombie apocalypse at school

      3) fly around the world and just take in some of the scenery my subconscious can create

      4) be involved in a prison break

      5) have a dream where i am a professional hitman

      1) float around
      2) Talk to Dc's
      3) Float around some more
      4) Explode vats full of emotions
      5) Art and music

I've done so much by now, I just wanna go back to basics and do simple stuff. So that my list.

number 2 is cool to do, zombie apocalypse make for some of the best dreams.

Unrelated, but dutchraptor's from Ireland? My entire perception of reality has turned inside out. Again. Does that mean it's back to normal? Maybe it's like a flexagon and it has many sides. I find this likely.

Anyway enough silliness. I don't really have long-term goals at the moment. I'll just go where it takes me, and enjoy the things I learn along the way.

As much as I love WILDing, my goal is to build my awareness to the point that I can recognize I'm dreaming every night. When I first started practicing I always thought I wanted to be able to have WILDs at will, but now that I've achieved that goal I guess I'd like to master DILD.

That's actually a really good goal, but it seems so hard, a lucid a night is a lot, like, that's 365 a year.. Good luck, I hope you get there one day!

Well, my goal right now is to have a lucid dream period.

However, once I am able to be lucid again. I really like the idea of using lucid dreams to travel. For that purpose I have watched a documentary on the Taj Mahal and another on the Great Wall of China, and one of my long term dream goals would be to travel there in my dreams. I would also like to revisit my childhood home in Poland.

I know I will want to do a lot of other things, too, of course.

If you think of it as that difficult, then it will be. Look at people like lucidis and hukif. They knew no limits, so they have none. Aim for the stars, that way if you miss you will still land in the moon. My goal is for every dream to be lucid. Last year I started in July and had 52 LDs add up the days and that is 52 out of 184 nights. er 28% of the nights. This year I am at 95 out of 120 days, which is 79%. Now I normally have 2 or 3 lucids if I have one, so It wasn't 95 nights of LDs, but my goal for now it match my days counter for the year, 365 LDs this year, even though I am already behind I know I can do it. I originally only wanted 250 LDs, but then I did the math and found out that if I continued as is I would have about 280 LDs (rounding), so I am aiming higher. 365 LDs is my "Low goal" for LDing, if I don't hit it then I consider it a failure.

My in dream goal is to either have a bunch of different worlds I visit and have all sorts of adventures with tons of dream friends, or just have 1 world I go to every single night and just have a second life.

My main goal is to improve in lucid dreaming to the point of having lucid every day, and then up to the point of having every dream to be lucid, as well.
My in dream long-term goals would be visiting/adventuring in different worlds and/or persistent world as well, plus mastering transformation and visiting some video game based worlds.

You guys don't know what you wish for, having a lucid dream every night is not exactly the best thing you may wish for, trust me i know! You will end up waking up tired, like if you don't sleep at all during the night. Is easier to become lucid wile you are younger, when you start to be older and stress affect your life, is not so easy as before.

Personal goal, attain illumination, have total control of the dream itself, and stop the projection of this karmic seeds in my mind, experience only light and no more mind distractions.

I don't agree novadream. I have heard people say that quite a bit, but people like hukif, naiya, and lucidis report no such thing. I had 14 LDs in 6 days. No issues or problems. Heck, I didn't even get the amount of sleep I normally do and I felt awesome the whole week.

What is experience only light? It sounds interesting.

      Novadream.*

I Lucid every night I try now (which is pretty much every night) and feel like I'm buzzing when I wake, and throughout the day.
      I definitely don't feel tired.*

My main goal now is to make my Lucid's longer, to make them on average 30 minutes or more.

If you only have the skills to do so you can experience anything you can imagine as real.

About 10 years ago, i have the ability to do it at will, almost every rem period of the night. My obsession was mostly sexual pleasure (i was young) and almost every period i fall asleep i dream and have very intense lucid experiences, i become so lucid, that my next goal was to hold some object in my hand in the dream state and materialize it in the real world once i wake up. It demand so much from my concentration that i become to wake so tired every day, so slowly i start to block the ability to become lucid, because was something i don't want. And for few years i block totally the lucid dreams, i even stop remember my own dreams.

So like i say, make sure you don't push your mind so far, maybe in my case my inexperience and obsession lead me to become really tired without prepare my mind for it.

Now i study again the dream world, my my lucid experiences are not so intense like before, but my goals are very different as well, since now i have a different understanding of sleep, dreams and lucidity.

Well i never try to make my lucid dreams longer, in fact we have many dreams per night, i count 8 sometimes, in a normal 8h sleep, and few are just few minutes, only the dawn dreams are longer and intense. You may try to study Stephen Laberge. Is techniques don't work well with me, since is approach is scientific and logic and mine is spiritual and esoteric.

In induction terms - lucidity throughout the night across all sleep cycles, REM and NREM - that is the aim of sleep yoga. Trying to think of people who have achieved it, off the top of my head I think Nina, there was also this truly amazing post on Reddit by this guy who called it pellucid dreaming. I would like to experience the non-dualistic awareness of deep sleep, clear light dreams, etc.

The dreaming of a persistent world, characters, narrative.

Related to the first, enlightenment(maybe?), I do not believe it is possible to achieve while striving towards it.

EDIT: Here's that thread on pellucid dreaming. I'm not sure about his philosophy any longer, but it's still a remarkable statement of the outer limits of awareness.

      Novadream.

"my next goal was to hold some object in my hand in the dream state and materialize it in the real world once i wake up"

Like Coleridge's Flower, Now that would be cool!

Yeah I've had successive Lucid Dreams 4-5 REM cycles in a row a few times but I usually try to have 1 or 2 good Lucid's lasting longer than 10 minutes or so a night, or if they're short ones I'll try for another the same night.
After that I can just turn on my left side for uninterrupted sleep as I rarely have Lucids lying on my side.

I've read Laberge Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming and thought it was a pretty good read.
I've just finished reading Robbert Waggoner's Lucid Dreaming, Gateway To Inner Self, which I enjoyed.
Some of his ideas seem a little out there but interesting non the less.
