Lucid dreaming most of the day?

Personally I've found the real world pretty depressing, and I have some kind of friends (inb4yourmad) which I always see in my lucid dreams. When I lucid dream it feels like I am in a different world and I am much happier to be there then the 'real' world. So I would like to be there at least 20 hours a day. Would this be healthy? I am having IRL Issues and it is making me depressed, and I feel alot happier to be in my dream then in real life, has anyone ever done this before? Maybe I could induce this with sleeping pills or something.. Sorry for the long read hope you can help :)

Unfortunately, while I understand the desire to escape depression into dreams, since I have experienced depression before, but I fear this is not a good idea. I am sure it is not healthy. Whiteout sleeping pills it would be impossible, and sleeping pills on a regular basis are unhealthy, plus you are I think less likely to successfully lucid dream while under the influence of sleeping pills. Ultimately, you would have to wake up, and most likely the issues would be worse.

What I found though is that the lessons learned from lucid dreaming practice can be powerful tools in fighting depression. Lucid dreaming teaches us greater self awareness, how to control our world (and while you cannot do it quite the same in the waking world, you can control yourself, your thoughts and emotions, and turn them for the better), determination, adjusting expectations and intensions. It is not an easy process, but one can slowly and steadily fight depression in waking life using the tools taught in dream world.

Remember also that depression is not easy to fight on your own: engage the help of others in your life.

Well, I can speak from experience when I say, you don't want to take the sleeping pill route. I did this myself back in the day to dream more. I got addicted to sleeping pills and I couldn't sleep without them. Amongst other side effects from the addiction. Even after getting off of them, I now suffer from legit insomnia. The direct opposite of what I was trying to achieve. I've had about 2 hours of sleep in the last 40+ hours...not fun. So, I strongly, strongly suggest you don't take this route. Nothing worse than being awake for 40+ hours when you want to be asleep and you can't do anything about it.

I have friends that always join me in my dreams as well. I suggest you just continue to practice lucid dreaming and start experimenting with time dilation during your lucid dreams. It is possible to feel as if you have stayed in the dream for longer than you actually have. I've had several dreams that felt as if they lasted 8, 9, 10 hours, but in reality, they only lasted for one REM period (about an hour or so).

There have been many users of the years who have claimed to dilate time and spend days in a dream (some have spent even longer). Of course, there is no way to prove if they were telling the truth, but I don't see why ti wouldn't be possible. I've stretched 1 hour into 10 hours, so I'm sure it can be take further. If you figure it out though, promise to let me in on your secrets :D!

But, even if you could sleep 20 hrs a day - that's just 4 hours awake. School, work, making money for living?

And the worst part, sorry to say, but your waking life troubles would not go away. You need to work on them. In waking life. We all have moment we wish we could just sleep through. But it doesn't work that way.

Best thing would be to talk to parents, friends, school councelors about your problem and reserve LDs for fun. And if you think about solving your problem and looking for solutions, you may even incubate a dream that will offer some kind of a solution. But first, you have to work on it.
