Intent vs Will
I was reminded again last night that intent is not the same as will. For 4 days I have been reading Robert Waggoners book on Lucid Dreaming - Gateway to the mind. I wanted to try some techniques out but no lucid dreams. I realized I was willing it too hard. I decided to not read it for one day and take a break...and you know what happened...lucid dream. As Waggoner quotes Casteneda in his book.. "wish without wishing....do without doing." This is a hard balance to master and probably trips up a lot of noobs who really want to LD starting out. The intent comes from the subconscious I think, and conscious willing doesnt seem to work well for me at least. I am also writing this to remind me, since I fall into the trap of thinking I can force an LD through will alone.

Yeah, for some reason when you focus alot on something (lucid dreaming for me too) then just stop it and take a break, it ends up happening.
