Dream Recall at a High _No Lucids

I still take sleeping pills to get to sleep with no dream recall at night. I get up early to take wife to work and most of the time I’m able to go back to sleep for a few hours. My dream recall is up to at lest (3) dreams per morning. But no lucid dreams lately. What am I doing wrong?

Ps I read and think a lot about lucid dreaming but admit that I do not do a lot of RCs. They are a little boring and I usually have the attitude "Oh crap, I know I'm not dreaming even though sometimes I try to believe that maybe I am.

One's motivation regarding Lucid Dreaming can only be as intense as the purposes one wishes to put one's lucid dreams to. If you do not have any important goals to achieve, then it is understandable that your dreams are finding other priorities.

I think many Lucid Dreamers would have more and better lucid dreams if they could put together coherent Lucid Dreaming Checklists. It takes some thought to put together a good effective Lucid Dreaming Checklist. what are your goals and ambitions and how can lucid dreaming help to achieve those ends. Then use those ideas to define a Lucid Dreaming Plan. Once you know you are dreaming, what do you do then? If you have nothing important to do... nothing you really care about, besides the silly parlor tricks that people perform in order to demonstrate their 'control', then it should not be surprising that lucidity should cease to be a driving factor motivating us in our lives.

Hey, just wondering, how long does it take you to drive your wife? As in, how long do you go between sleep and sleep again and still get those 3 dreams per morning?

      Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.

      .
About 45 minutes to an hour. Then it takes another 45 minutes or more to get back to sleep. Probably small residue left over from sleeping pills. I think the dreams come when the pills are wearing off.

it's probably a dry spell. Nothing you should be worried about. It could also be that you're either not trying hard enough or trying to hard. I dont know what else you're doing to induce lucid dreaming, but if its not a lot, then step it up. If you're doing to much, then take a week break of induction techniques

Don’t know if paying to much attention could be the cause or not. Don’t think it’s from to little attention. I spend a few hours a day ether reading relative material or posting and reading here at DV. I don’t think I’m wasting time though because the information I’m accumulating is adding up. For instance I am working on a list of dream signs that I am composing from February of this year. That is, I’m reviewing all the dreams I recorded from February until today and compiling a list of things that happen in the dream and that also happen in waking life. On top of that list and having the highest value is driving. So I will start doing reality tests whenever I drive. The valuable thing about composing a list like this (I think) is that as things change value it will appear closer to the top of the list and will be included in the RCs.
      .
      Example
      .
OCCURS IN DREAMS............................................ ...................OCCURS W / AWAKE
      Driving 11111111 .................................................. ................... A lot
Light not working1111 .................................................. ............A lot of use
A woman tempting me 111............................................... ....... Note: Not a lot in real life lol
      Seeing a dead person 11 .................................................. ..... Yea right
