Could being a Homestuck be a Roadblock?

Alright, for those of you who don't know, (Because I'm fairly sure that that's at least 80% of you.) Homestuck is this webcomic, blah blah blah, that part's not important. In the comic, all of the characters have these "dream selves" that are on these other dream planets. Whenever the characters sleep, they spend the entire time kind of lucid dreaming (not really ld'ing though, because for them, falling asleep and waking up is just a trigger for becoming a different person. Not actual dreaming.) as their dreamselves- assuming that they've awakened and their dreamself is alive.
The thing is, for the characters to "awaken," (which basically means their dreamself is now able to wake up when their realself falls asleep) some big thing has to happen... I suck at words, so here's a (lengthy) quote from the wiki which probably does a much better job of explaining it.

Jade states that the method of awakening one's dream self is to face (often unpleasant) things one has not before, such as John learning what his father really does for a living (although this failed to wake him up completely). Though this is not directly seen, Rose and Dave managed to awaken their dream selves in the alternate timeline resulting from John's demise due to Terezi Pyrope. Rose managed to stay awake when she traveled back to the main timeline by going to sleep just before the alternate timeline's destruction, going on to help Dave fully awaken his dream self. John is woken up in a different manner: being manhandled by Jade and then narrowly avoiding a gargantuan fiery explosion to the face.
Now, I'm a pretty dedicated Homestuck, and I was wondering if it's possible that reading this/knowing about this/however you want to word it, is creating a subconscious roadblock that's kept me from lucid dreaming (In case it matters/you're curious, I've been trying to LD for about a month now. It's probably possible that I'm just impatient.). Keep in mind, I'm not saying that I think that Homestuck's method of "awakening" is an actual thing that's true, or anything. I'm just wondering if it could possibly be creating a placebo effect.
If this is an actual possibility, I would appreciate some tips on how the hell I'm supposed to tear down the roadblock, since it's (at least it is at this point, since I've let it exist without my knowing for at least a year before I started trying to lucid dream.) kind of ingrained in my subconscious. Where I'm assuming I can't really make an impact on it with my conscious mind. Also, now that I've typed the part about maybe i'm just being impatient, now I'm worrying that this is gonna become a roadblock just 'cause I'm worrying abut it too much. Is that a thing that can happen? If so, how do I stop it from happening?

...Ok, I think that's it. Sorry for how stupid this post probably is ._.
      ...
I don't know how to end posts.

its quite common for some to not have a lucid within their first month. with regards to the comic, it might cause some sort of mental block, but worrying about it being a block, will only strengthen any potential effects. just don't worry, relax and you will have one eventually. there have been cases of people trying really hard with no success, only to slow it down a bit and suddenly have one. either way, if you think its a problem, its probably going to be a problem
