      Question Would this work?

Right, so I'm not sure if this is a thing most LDers already so but... yesterday, I was sitting down on my futon in my room, trying to relax a bit. I was also listening to a podcast from this site (The one about WILD and DEILD I think) and so I closed my eyes so I would only be focusing on the voices, and so I could retain more information. As I did this, I zoned out a bit, and I wanted to see how clearly I could remember my longest lucid dream. So, I began digging up the memory, and the more I was goin through it, the more... real it seemed like I was slowly being brought into it, as if I was entering a dreaming state. I snapped out of it though, because I wanted to listen to the podcast more (bad excuse I know... but it was interesting xD)

Anyway, I wanted to know if I started to meditate, got into a nice trance, then started to recall my lucid dream I had long ago, could I use it so I could enter that dream scenario from long ago, and use it as a starting point to have a totally, original, lucid dream? Because yesterday when this happened, if felt like if I waited a little longer, I would've 're-entered' into the dream, with me still being fully consious.

When you start thinking about something, like your day, or some previous dream, that kick-starts your dreaming process. You are basically visualizing. And if you are close to REM, like you would be during a nap, your thoughts may turn into images and videos. Those videos are a dream that has already started and it's ready for you to enter it.

So I would say yes, had you continued, you may have ended up in a lucid dream.

Thank you for comfirming what I thought. I think I might use this method for lucid dreams, it feels the easiest for me. I tried to do this earlier, and was having a bit of a hard time because my ADD meds hadn't worn off, so I was finding it difficult to relax. However, I did almost do it, twice, was up to the hypnogangic imagery, but my dog's barking distracted me. Now that he is sleeping, and my ADD meds are pretty much worn off, I think I'll try this again. Again, thanks for the help!

Brony, let me tell you, NOTHING will ruin a WILD attempt faster then your restless dog, LOL. Tori, one of the family pets, sleeps in my room. She is a bed hog, and unfortunately she is a resltess sleeper, often jumping up/down from the bed or when she finally does sleep, whimpering and kicking her feet in her dreams, pulling me right out of the HH phase!

Good luck on your next attempt. Sounds like you are getting pretty close

Was having some cool HH imagery though, First it looked like a green ball, then it morphed into the shape of a frog, then a turtle, then into a heart (the <3 shaped one) was very cool. Wait, was that HH? I only guessed from descriptions I've heard..

Also yes, my dog buddy does bark a lot... but he is so god damn adorable... I can't be mad at him.

He IS a cute dog, LOL! A min pin?

I think that is HH, it sounds just like it; in fact, it sounds even more vivid then the majority of the HH I get; but then, I inevitably fall asleep during my WILD attempts, losing awareness darnit.

Yep, you could have gained lucidity this way. It's really the way every WILD technique works if you think about it. Just find something (visualization/finger/hypnagogic imagery) to help you into the trance state then you can pass into a lucid dream.

Thank you yost for those kind words!

For you LucidBrony I would just like you to to take a moment and think about what the WILD induction really is. It's a process of moving your awareness from this physical waking world into the non-physical dreamworld. How do you control a dream? Well you probably need some more reference experience to fully understand it, but a dream is controled by your intent. So when we know that a dream is a non-physical experience that you navigate within with intent, we now got the minimum requirements for a lucid dream.

So in theory all that we need is to focus on something non-physical and well basically control it with our own free will.
The easiest example of this is a Day Dream!

But we want a vivid experience that is more stable and feel more real right?

Well the reason to why the daydream doesn't feels real and is stable is because our awareness is still on the physical, like our body or the information our senses pick up.

So, still just in theory, all that we need to do is to focus more and more on the non-physical experience until our awareness is more focused on that than on the physical and it will feel more real, your described experience is a perfect example for that.

To make a long theory short: Yes it would work

I tried to make it some what clear, but in this thread I go a little more in depth:

      Good luck!

Thank you for the post, it was very VERY informitive, and I love the theory there, it adds on to what I've already beleived, and confirms it. I think I may try this right now, or maybe in an hour when my body doesn't feel as sore.

Nope, my dog is a miniture dachsand mixed with a beagle! His name is buddy.

I never fall asleep during my wild attempts, I've always been able to hand on to consciousness. It's just most of the time I get ejected from it when something in my house distracts me.

Yep, as the others have said, definitely sounds like a WILD to me

Check out Sageous' Class for a good guide on the technique, there might be some pointers that you could learn from in there. Very helpful resource
