Happy dream reflecting a could be problem or just paranoia
Yesterday I bought a new computer game. I haven't played a computer game at my house in at least 8 months. It's called Guild Wars. My friends wanted me to buy it so I spent the money i left for myself to go crazy with. I installed it and started playing at 7:00 P.M. I stopped at 1:00 A.M. and listened to music until 4:00 A.M. and went to bed. That is 6 hours at the computer. I didn't even get up from my chair like I normally do when I'm on the computer.
When I went to bed I dreamt about playing the game. After I saw that I had magical powers I knew I was LDing. It's a really fun game so I guess I am not as surprised as I should be, but that may be a warning sign that I could get into the game too much. It may interfere with my schoolwork and that can't happen.
I am in a program that lets you take college classes from Freshman year of High School that gets you your G.E.D and 2 years worth of a university degree for all the colleges in my state. I have to work very hard to maintain the level I normally do. Straight A's. If I failed a class, which I never have, that would mean I would not be able to get that free 2 years of college.
Today, when I went over to my friend's house to help his dad with his yard work since my friend is gone, my friend's dad and I decided to play the game together since he plays it too. we played from 8:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. It was a lot of fun. Now I am in the stage where I listen to good music before I meditate to prepare myself for sleep. I don't want anything to keep me from my work at school and yet I want to have fun with my friends and play the game with them throughout the night (Considering I prefer the night). I don't want to try to be uptight about it, but it's just a big concern to me.
The reason that this sparked because I interpreted this dream in two ways. The first way is that I really like the game and I will have fun playing it. The second way is that this game could consume my life. I didn't even sign onto any forums or check daily webcomics for laughs yesterday which is extremely unusual. I just don't play video games that much and I might have gone overboard.
Am I blowing this out of proportion or am I placing correct concerns?
