Does sleeping position affects DILD after WBTB?

Hello everyone, I’ve been active on this forum for a while unregistered, I saw how great this community is and eager to support dreamers so decide to join you. I’ve read articles and noticed that everyone recommend DILD for beginners. Since I am new I’ve been working on RCs and awareness and noticed that WBTB is a very powerful tool that can help with lucidity, but there is something that I am very interested to know and I apologize if there is a thread somewhere about this but decided to open this one.
I use WBTB overtime and go to sleep normally on my side left/right which are my normal sleeping positions I use all the time to fall asleep. Also I tried many times to sleep on my back which is not my sleep position and it’s harder to fall asleep but I still manage to and have dreams. My question is, does sleeping position affects DILD, if I do WBTB and go back to sleep am I going to have a better chance of becoming lucid or higher level of awareness within a dream in my normal sleep position or laying on my back or even semi sitting?
I know how great experienced members there are in this forum and community and I greatly thank you in advance for your time, every your opinion and information you share.

Yeah, some positions can affect your awareness and it varies from person to person how they do affect it, positions that are normal for you are usually preferred but you can do some experimenting if you want, just be sure that positions you are using are comfortable for you, uncomfortable positions only make it worse. :-?

I agree with what Scionox says. In addition, you may try to conduct a little experiment by being aware of the different positions in which you sleep and keeping a record of the overall mood of the dream, level of awareness during the dream as well as recall, and how easy and comfortable it is for you to fall asleep in that position. For example, I have noticed for myself that I find it easier to think more clearly and visualize while on my back, but prefer my right side to fall asleep. Again, as Scionox said, these are personal, although you could extend your research and read more about sleeping positions in dream yoga and of course conduct your own experiments. My normal sleeping position is on my side, but when I try WBTB it feels like it is going to work better on my back. The only problem is I tend to snore if I'm on my back, which means I either wake myself up, or my partner does it!
What I tend to do is start on my back, then when the imagery starts to come in I turn onto my side. I haven't yet managed to WILD like this, but I have had DILDs.

Whatever position you choose, make sure you are comfortable with it because that is most important if you want to sleep well, and consequently, lucid dream better. I find that if i sleep in reverse, that is with my head on the opposite end of the bed, I get very bizarre dreams that sometimes leads to lucidity. Not sure why that is, maybe the unusual positioning makes me more subsconsciouly wary of my environment, like when you sleep at a new place. And i think if you're a bit more aware mentally because of that, you could be able to use that awareness for lucid dreaming. But again, sleep comfortably among all things. Cheers!
