Can't keep LD routine
I've been on and off LDing for 2 and a half years now. The time LDing has been getting shorter and shorter each time. I really want to keep doing this, but keeping a dream journal and doing the other stuff like reality checks is so hard to remember. I always forget. If I don't get an LD within the first few days I start to lose interest. Within a week I'm giving up now. I think part of the reason is I've never gotten a really amazing one that everybody talks about. Mine have always been blurry and hard to control. I could never remember anything I wanted to do from TOTM or goals. Does anyone have any ideas for me so I can be enthusiastic again?

Hey, I'm new here and I've only had one very short accidental lucid dream, so this advice probably won't be very good, but you could try taping a note to the wall reminding you what to do, or fall asleep holding one.
That's what I did when I was exercising so I wouldn't forget my work-outs :) I can't really think of much else as tonight will be my first night trying to get a lucid dream, but I hope this helps!

Yes you could try to keep notes just like it has been said above ^^
And you shouldn't quit too soon man ;) if you want to succeed in this you must constantly do this and you must try really hard and not quit instantly.....if it doesn't happen for the first time so what.... if it doesn't happen for the first 10 times so what.... but NEVER QUIT .... always be commited to this if you want to succeed ;)

Hey Tasca, i understand how you feel. It's very hard to keep going when it isn't very fruitful so far.
Try wearing a colored rubber band on your wrist, and reality check everytime you see it. That really helped remind me to do lucid dreaming things during my first few weeks. Also, make a new list of lucid goals every month with specific details on what you want to achieve. It really helps remind your brain that you MUST accomplish it before the deadline, so you get lucid faster. Keep daydreaming, too. I find that repeatedly daydreaming helps a lot to build a storyline and helps your visualization too. To make it a bit better, daydream of something that happens as you go along, and not simply one scene you replay over and over. That way, you'll keeo your interest as to how the story goes next, and you won't get bored easily.
It would also be a good idea to find a lucid buddy on the forums—someone you can talk to regularly and swap stories and attempts with and keep the motivation up. You can even have little contests on doing a certain lucid task, or do experiments and attempts together with him/her so you won't feel bored doing it by yourself and eventually giving up.
Good luck!

To add to what Paige said, reading other people's lucid experiences and DJs can help with motivation too. Also here are some good threads to check for goals and inspiration:

And competitions and challenges can indeed help, i am running dreaming competitions (roughly) monthly in General Lucid Dreaming class in DVA, so be sure to join in next one for inspiration if you want, whenever it starts. :)
