Do i have to sleep on my back?

Hello! Im wondering if i have to sleep on my back to attain lucidity? Alot of people has been saying that or atleast thats its much harder sleeping in another position. I almost always sleep on my belly and i really dont want to sleep on my back since i find it VERY hard to fall asleep and it feels really uncomfortable. Im currently using the technique Mild.

I strongly believe that any position in which it is very hard to fall asleep and which is really uncomfortable is the wrong position for attaining lucidity. :) Lucid dreaming is a very personal experience, different methods work for different people. You need to find what works for you. And given what you said, it sounds like sleeping on your back would not work for you.

I am also not used to sleep on my back and I had many LDs so far so it is not necessary to sleep like that. However the fact that you are not used to it is maybe the key thing. While sleeping on your back you can tell that something is different, you can feel it in your dream and it may help you to attain lucidity.
When you sleep in your normal position your mind is just going to sleep as always. So different position might help you to concentrate more to lucidity.
Good thing is also to lay on the back just a few minutes with doing some mantras or concentration to LD and then just fall asleep in your favorite position.

Not at all, you should sleep in the most comfortable position for you. The important thing is to sleep well. Think of this: if you sleep uncomfortably, your physical body sensations can sometimes carry over into the dream, for example when you feel like there's a gush of wind in your face while dreaming, only to wake up with the fan blowing at you. Or when you hear music in the dream only to wake up with the same music playing near you. And even when you dream you broke a wrist and wake up realizing that your hand was bent the entire time you were asleep. Physical stimuli can affect your dreams too, so you want to be as comfortable as possible to be in the best condition to have lucids.

Like everyone what else said, you should sleep in position that is comfortable for you, it's good to experiment with positions to find one which works the best but if position is uncomfortable then that's wrong position to sleep in no matter what method or technique you are using for becoming lucid, especially if it prevents you from falling asleep. :-?

I can only sleep on my belly, so while I can't comment on if other positions are better from experience, I can say this position works fine.

It's funny but I feel more like I'm going to have success lying on my back. I can get to sleep on my side as well, in fact easier on my side, but the problem is I snore when on my back, so I'm likely to get a dig in the ribs from my wife!
I do wonder if maybe you go to sleep but in a slightly more uncomfortable position it is more likely that you will be slightly more aware? Just a thought.

I have had over 150 LDs lying on my right side.
