Limits of Lucid Dream?

Hi all,

I am fairly new to Lucid Dreaming. However I have been researching for a month or so of what someone can do in a Lucid Dream. I was fascinated that someone, with the proper effort of reaching that expertise, can:

- access his/her subconscious mind and remember any scene of his/her life.
- access his/her subconscious for understanding what is wrong with him/her on a certain aspect like a disease or body anomaly, phobia or a negative emotional block.
- literally ask his/her subconscious mind for a solution to a problem/issue and get an answer!

However I was wondering; what are the limits of Lucid Dreaming?

Someone can summon a person from past or future or an imaginary person that has an expertise on a specific topic. Then ask this person for advice on this specific topic. If that is possible that means your mind can access the collective consciousness which will provide such information. Is that possible?

In addition, if that is possible then, is it possible to summon a real alive person like Bill Gates and ask for his mobile phone number? Will such information be provided? Yes? No? Why?

Also, I wanted to express one of the things I don't understand. I know that a lot of people have lucid dreams. In a lucid dream you can be provided with excellent solutions and inspirations. My motivation for lucid dreaming is not to fly or have sex as most websites suggest. My motivation is to have a conversation with the greatest inventors ever existed, with angels and other people-entities that can help me in personal and spiritual development. So my point is, why is people not after a great inspirational idea or guidance? Is it difficult to reach to the point of achieving this? Or is it something else?

I heard two fascinating stories. A guy was working with Da Vinci and made an art masterpiece out of it and another story with a guy working in NASA that used Novadreamer to have a lucid dream and found the solution for an aspect in design of a robot that was going to be used on a mission to Mars.

If those stories are true then collective consciousness can be accessed through lucid dreaming.

Please share your knowledge, experience or perspective, or anything else that shows what can be achieved in a lucid dream.

I think it depends on what you believe. There are many people who believe you can share dreams with others and you can find more information about it on this part of the site.

I personally don't believe that it's possible. I believe that if you were to meet someone like Da Vinci or Bill Gates in a lucid dream, it'd be what your mind believes to be Da Vinci and Bill Gates, and that includes things you've heard and read about them (even if you don't remember those facts). But that really is a matter of opinion and beliefs. :)

It is easier to begin with small goals, since it's hard to control your dreams in the beginning, so I think that might be one of the reasons... but I guess some people would rather just have some mindless fun doing things they wouldn't do in real life than anything deeper than that, and I include myself in that category. :P

There are different theories on this, so everybody will have his own opinion on your questions. Some will suggest that it is all possible but you will work only with your own subconscious, that you will get answers from your self and nobody else. Other will say that it is completely possible but you will see another version of that person and he might give you another mobile number because in the reality that you are currently dreaming he has another number. Or another view is that you might meet those people because you are lucid and you can re-create whatever you want, plus you can get real information, new inventions, mobile number of Bill and other stuff by getting information from what people call "akashik records" or field of information about everything.


Get into lucid dreaming and discovery it your self, find theory that is closer to you and good luck :)

"is it possible to summon a real alive person like Bill Gates and ask for his mobile phone number?" .. awesome. You can totally do that but dont expect to get the real number. The number ( i think ) will just be the sub concious projection of what you think his number is.

" My motivation is to have a conversation with the greatest inventors ever existed" .. Cool , you have the right intentions bro. The only advice i can give is read a lot of their work. Once you know a lot about them you can then project them and just talk. A lot of the time you might find out something that your sub concious picked up in the reading but you did not , and that comes out in your exploration of the manifestation. I highly recommend Nikola Tesla or James Maxwell. The most amazing Scientists bar none.

What i find in lucid dreaming is that if i have had a lot of experience in a subject or situation i can fairly easily project that into the dream.

As for asking your sub concious for an answer .. I am not sure about this. What i find its that there is a lot hidden from our everyday experience and when you are lucid if you can search for what you are looking for , like a pirate , you can maybe find it.

There is very little that i find impossible in the dream. I have lately spend most of the time surfing though. I am not getting bored of that at all, its actually all i have been doing for a while. One time i took drugs in the dream. For real, and it sort of .. not quite , but i did feel "out" of it, not out of lucidity but just very disorientated. It was kinda cool, not as cool as surfing though :)

I dont know about the collective sub consciousness , I have never experienced anything like that before. I have only felt the presence of two entities in my lucid dream state and they were not friendlies . Besides that it very much just feels like my own little world. Sometimes there are people there but they feel very automated , like they have a scripted program to run , like even though i have not mentally created them, its like i need to have them doing that certain activity for my greater scheme to play out as it should.

It becomes more of a activity in fun then in work, which some people see that inspiration and guidance are. It has a lot too do with who you are and what you want to achieve i guess. Why would you want guidance if you dont think you will need it? or why would you want an idea if you dont think you have the ability in the waking life to produce it? Things like that can end up haunting you .. big time. You could come up with perpetual motion and get to the real world where you dont have the means necessary to follow through . I tend to try not to converge the two realities to much , i think it gets a bit heavy after a while ... but that is me ... i have just been surfing for a few weeks now ... lol

Angelpotter, cheers for the info! Yes I am aware about OBE and astral. In fact I had astral and have friends that do astral project very often. They told me that information there is kept in a "specific" plane that with the proper meditation and experience you can easily access.

flowofmysoul, thank you for posting :) Yep, I am familiar with akashik records. In fact what my question would be if those are available in lucid dreaming as I know are accessible in OBEs.

gerdi, thank you very much! I will follow your advice on researching about the inventors and people I want to meet before planning to. I also think that this is essential. Also, yeah I know what you mean to have fun in dreams. You could do crazy stuff and have real fun as you do. And I will surely do so when I have my own lucid dreams. However I try to use whatever comes to my life in order to develop and expand. Fun also expands people! Keep surfing! :D
