Lucid Dreaming Related?

I am a regular lucid dreaming but sometimes I get this weird experience, when trying to sleep the night after going out and drinking. I can have my eyes open, or half closed and can see people moving around me, they also approach me and smile, no sounds. It gives me the sensation that I want to blink and when I do it stops the current situation and starts a new one. Its not as vivid as lucid dreams, the whole atmosphere has a silver black tinge to it and is usually only the contours of people. Is this some sort of WILD? The weirdest part is it happens as soon as lye down to try and sleep and usually happens until I fall asleep.

I should also mention that this is not sleep paralysis because it happens as soon as I lye down and I can move freely. It has happened 3 times.

Has anyone else had this experienced? Sorry if its not clear, ask questions if you are unsure what I am meaning. Thanks

Sometimes when I drink I see shadows moving around when going to bed, but never like you are explaining. I sometimes wake up partially still in my dreams hallucinating partially in the real world and in the dream scene I was just in, I can walk around and everything and still hallucinate for 30 seconds or more.

On those three nights that it happened did you drink the night before also? Or maybe not get enough sleep that day? All I can think of is instant sleep paralysis (It can happen if you haven't had the proper amount of sleep) due to lack of REM sleep the last few nights and you just aren't noticing the vibrations, which I'd call REM rebound. Which would mean you were already in a dream you just didn't know it. Hmm but I really don't know just naming a few things that could be the cause. Have anymore details?

Yeah, I get the same thing when I drink every now and then. Pretty sure it's just the alcohol giving you fun things to look at :cheeky:

I kind of explained it wrong before. When I have had a heavy night out drinking, i usally crash around 3 or 4am and then wake up at like 10 or 11am. Its the night after the drinking that I see these images. I don't think it is sleep paralysis though, this would imply that I couldn't move, which I could.

Hm well if you put it that way I'd just say it's REM rebound, alcohol makes you lose a lot of REM sleep. So when you go to bed the next day your body is desperately trying to gain that REM which could cause you to hallucinate while trying to sleep. Or your house is haunted :P
