Clocks
I know digital clocks are supposed to go crazy in dreams, and that's what always happened in mine, but what about standard clocks?
Each time I had a lucid dreams I looked at a "normal" clock on the wall to reassure myself it is a dream and the hands were always spinning like crazy - that was always my way into lucidity.
But then yesterday I had a lucid dream, where I did some stuff, the clock's hand were crazy and then I had a false awakening, and I was sure I was awake, everything seemed normal but some people during the day confronted me about some of the stuff I did in the lucid dream I've had. I thought this was impossible, but the clocks were NORMAL, they were not crazy at all, so I thought that I must have sleepwalked during my lucid dream and that's why I really did some of the stuff, though it still seem pretty unrealistic. Then I awoke a little bit for real and realized that yeah, I was still dreaming.
There were more weird stuff in that dream that I would love to ask about but for now can someone explain to me how come the clock was working normally and what are the general rules for that in lds?
thank you

Despite popular belief, reality checks don't always work. Sometimes our dreams are too stable, too realistic, and too consistent for us to rely them.
This is similar to the rumors that you can't read in a dream, can't count in a dream, and papers always change what words are written on them. While this is true SOME of the time, it's not always true. Some dreams are simply more consistent and realistic than others and so sometimes our primary and even secondary reality checks won't work. As for what to do in this circumstance, I have no clue.

What the above said. It might be best to think of at least one more reality check that could be useful to you, and if not, then more. You can either use one of the more popular RCs or you can make something up ('cause, I mean, everything's possible in the dream world).
I do have a suggestion, though: For now on, be sure to be on a look out for people who talk to you about anything you did in your dreams, lucid or non-lucid. Since it seems like this is the first experience you've had like this, it could be a one-time thing--or it could be something that is going to happen every time you have a false awakening. Never know, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
What are the other questions?

Thanks for your replies, that's very helpful!
Wow, if the clocks and the letters are not always messed up in dreams that makes it more difficult I guess.
I did have people talking to me about stuff I did in a dream "within a dream", but never in a lucid one. What do you mean here better safe than sorry? I mean why is it bad of it keeps happening?
As for other stuff, well for instance mirrors. I looked in one in my ld, not as a reality check, but I genuinely wanted to see what I looked like at that moment and I saw my face for a second but than in turned into another person's than another, and another and it kept switching like this as long as I looked at the mirror. The faces were not grotesque or weird, just other people I've never met, mostly men. Despite knowing I'm dreaming, it scared the s**t out of me and I was wondering if looking in mirrors is always scary? is it for you?
Only one time, a few weeks ago, I have seen my true reflection in a mirror in a dream and for some reason that was scary too because of how clear the picture was.

I didn't mean that in a literal way, that it would be somehow dangerous if you didn't create several RCs as a back-up. I just meant that it might be better to create them to save you for the frustration later on. :3 Sorry for the confusion haha
Before I joined this website I read an article on another one that was dedicated to mirrors, dream doors, and mirror portals. The article warned that many people find looking into mirrors scary, usually because the visions that they see are grotesque or otherwise scary in some way. I usually don't look into mirrors, but the one time that I can remember (non-lucid), I had dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes. Not the best pigments for me, that's for sure.
Anyway, amiga, I'm off to bed. Remember that if you have anymore questions then you can ask them on this thread, another one, or you can send me or someone else a private message. :)
