What I love about lucid dreams.

I guess it's been roughly a year since I've been trying to LD, and it's taken almost that long to achieve them! So far, I'm at 3 LD's.

This got me think about why I love lucid dreaming after only having 3. The thing that comes to mind is that during them I learn new skills. I've been trying to fly in mine and it's so much trial and error, I'm practicing these amazing skills that couldn't happen in real life, and it seems to be a real process of trying to master something incredible. I feel like I'm actually learning from scratch, how to do something.

My next venture after getting flying down is to move onto bending (last airbender style). That again isn't possible in reality, but in my dreams I can learn and it feels so real.

I suppose what I'm getting at is that the learning process in lucid dreams just feels so real.

That's what I love about lucid dreaming. What about you?

I haven't had much experience with LD'ing but I have had a bit with flying. For me, it's the possibilities that I love. Anyway, for me, flying is always a conditional two part thing. I jump up, and there is this moment where either I lift off, or I fall back down and try again. It's unusual and kind of fun.

For me I think it's the ability to have my own fantasy world with its own story and no consequences that is created as I go. I guess that applies to normal dreams too but the lucid ones are always more interesting because I'm "in control" and I can actively choose where I go, what I do, who I talk to, etc even if I'm not trying or not able to affect the environment. It's like what "Second Life" wishes it was, lol.

I like what duke396 says about no consequences.
I must say, I love the afterthought of the LD, it always makes me smile!
My favorite thing about LD's is the flying experience though. A lot of the times I'm always in or on some vehicle, going flat out.
      Yeah I'm smiling right now!

I love that as well! When I wake up from an LD I just think it's incredible, I'm literally dumbfounded when I think 'oh my god, I was just lucid.'. It's an awesome feeling, and one that I don't get often in waking life!

What really thrills me, every time, is this amazing realization that there is a whole other, secret universe right there - all complete with everything you might want. And this extra universe is much bigger than the ordinary one! Brilliant - totally brilliant!

Thats what i also love about lucid dreaming. Its like discovering this new skill in humans and starting to master it like it was some kind of special ability and you can only get better at it if you keep you motivation high. You also learn to understand more how our mind works.

I like the comments about the afterthoughts... I rethink them a number of times because it is like you cant believe you just did that! Its weird, but I feel a little like a super hero...I have this incredible ability, but like all super heros it is my secret identity. I cant really tell people about it (tried in the past with bad results). DreamViews is my only outlet where I can share with fellow super heros.

Exactly people just think you have lost your mind if talk about lucid dreaming and you cant help anyone with it but yourself unless their willing to listen. Keeping the secret is sometimes too hard. Dreamviews gave me peace of mind at least here we can share our knowleadge.

So true, I was drunkenly talking about LDing to a friend last night, I must've sounded like a lunatic!

What I really love about lucid dreaming is that you get to control, explore other worlds that who knows might exist in another universe. I am one of the lucky ones that can lucid a lot, and I do (planning to have one later as I'm ill and need more rest.)

I love how, with the right control and conviction you can summon anyone you want. I summoned my crush who I've liked for seven years the other night for example, met up with him and had a chat. I've said hello to Daniel Radcliffe etc.

It's a wonderful experience, and I'm often teased on fb that I'm on drugs, but I'm not. Lucid dreaming is my only drug, and I wouldn't give it up for anything. I feel very privelaged to be able to control my dreams naturally.

I'm in it for the boost it gives me during the waking day. Most of my normal dreams are either uncomfortable or meaninglessly bizarre. Some of them leave me "getting up on the wrong side of the bed" and negatively impact the whole day. On those few occasions when I have a really awesome dream, it gives me a boost for days. When things aren't going well, when I'm down, I can call upon that memory of shooting up into the sky and seeing for miles around, or that memory of staring into the most beautiful lake I've ever seen, and it gives me a warm feeling inside that makes everything seem a little bit better.

Whenever I have a LD it boosts my mood for the whole day (Doesn't matter what kind of lucid it was). I really, really, REALLY love LDing because it's just
like in real life, when I wake up they're exactly as real life memories. Hmm, The thing is that I always daydreamt about impossible things you couldn't do in
real. I've frequently thought how awesome it could be to control your dreams and all, I didn't knew that LDing actually EXISTS. What I actually love about
LDing... Well, that's a big list:

      *Persistent realms
      *Flying
*Doing things you're afraid to do in real life
      *Fighting
      *Talking with dead relatives
      *Talking with your SC

      and the list goes on.
