Body, to dream body.....WILD? im not so sure.

Disclaimer - i mention dream body waking body a lot in this post, just to clarify, its not that im fixed on the idea the dream body is a thing! however i feel comfortable exploring with it, therefore, thats why i seek help in this area.

This post is about some weird lucid dream entry thing ive stumbled on recently, i would appreciate to hear if others are dealing with this, use this. Furthermore it is about some weird happenings within the dream, in regards to indentifying with the dream body.

So some quick background, I lucid dream quite regularly, with different degrees of awarness, often full blown with dream control, sometimes sloppy, fake lucids if you like. I Dont practice any more, per se fx keeping journal and dream signs etc as i have come to rely on spontaneous lucids (although i want to return to more serious practice)

I mostly experience lucid dream entrance from suddenly becoming aware, but have also experienced entry through Wake back to bed, which i guess is pretty similar, and then a couple of WILDS, experinced pretty much as wilds are described. Now here comes the part i Have questions on, wish to discuss.

So i wake up from my dream, i roll over, and start to fall back asleep. Immediatley, i can feel my dream awarness, dream body if you like, and simply by shaking it around a bit, i loosen from the physical body and i am within the dream realm. Now each time has different variables of sucess, but full blown lucids seem to come from this. I was shocked by the ease with which this transfer could be performed, and have gone on to repeat it a few times. It seems it is a similar thing to a WILD except missing all the freakyness. It also reminds me of the finger wiggle teqnique except, its less confusing for you simply slip into the dream body.

So another thing thats tied.... maybe.... Im a big spinner, I use spinning to solidify and to teleport occasionly, but more often than not, I use it to get out of the black, and into a new dream scene. However the other day when spinning i suddenly realised, The black did feel quite like the exact same place as the inbetween point i slip through from waking body to dream body, or vice versa. So i stopped spinning, and sure enough entered a new dream, the same way i would by going from waking body to dream body.

This all blows my mind quite a bit. It raises questions to me like.....If it could be so easy to transfer directly from wake body to sleep body (or awarness whatever) and if lucid dreaming skills like memory retreival for example are improved and developed.......... what kinda stuff could people be capable of..... i know perhaps we have to be in certain sleep cycles to do this stuff, but even then, its still pretty exciting. Direct dream entry seems to me to be a golden tool in the exploration of the dream realm if mastered, how many folks out there have mastered this or have more to say? id love to hear.

my final thing to throw out is...... Dream body vitality, has anyone ever had the feeling that their dream body is sick, or de energized or in some way incapable of being aware in the dream. I have had this a few times recently, a bit like my whole body is in an electric spasm, it has made me back off the dream world a little for now. I have assumed it is to do with how im feeling in the waking life transferring, but any serious thoughts or comments are massivley appreciated.

I understand what you mean when you say "dream body". I use that term all the time in my dream journal when I'm talking about WILDs, particularly DEILDs. For me, the most important thing to do when you feel yourself waking up is to cling to a feeling of disassociation and ignore your real body lying in bed. I usually visualise my hands in front of me and a basic scene I can interact with. For example, a flight of stairs, where I can touch the bannister. Getting the "dream body" moving and feeling something is the basis of nearly all my DEILDs.

I don't think it's necessarily a case of perfecting lucid dreaming skills with practice, just catching yourself at just the right level of awareness (whether during a WILD attempt or coming out of a dream). If you're fully relaxed and disassociate yourself from the real body (and all the distracting sensory input that comes with that), it can be quite easy to deliberately substitute sensory information from the dream body instead. In my opinion, it's a very underrated technique and people should make more use of it.

Some dreams I've entered this way match your description. Sometimes my mouth doesn't work properly when I try to speak, or it feels like my body is completely drunk. I'm not sure why this happens, it could be simply a reminder of the paralysed body lying back in bed. Maybe some hardcore anchoring could help (spinning, jumping, hand-clapping etc). This might not be relevant, but it seems to happen more (to me, at least) when I'm sleeping somewhere bright. For example, if the curtains are open and the sun is shining in. In these cases, bright lights get incorporated into the dream and my entire body feels like it's just been to the dentist. I wouldn't let this discourage you though, it won't happen every time!

I think your right, it does not happen all the time. However ive got to admit I still find it strongly distubing when it does!
