I would have used search for this, but it seems it's not working at the moment. I was just wonding what day dreams are suppose to be like, how you do them and basically anything else I should know about them.

It's just a story you play in your mind and imagine. Like let's say you daydreamed that you saw a car. Then you just simply think of(actually, rather imagine) a car. You slowly think of the description of the car... like a Chevrolet and all the details. Then you decide to walk up to the car and enter it, then you walk up to the car, grab your keys, put it in the car, turn them, and open the door(or you can choose to open the door right away) then enter the car. Where would you like to go? you choose where you want to go start the car and things like that. Basically what it is... imagining a story.Quote:

I do this alot, but when I do, I go 10x faster than I would in real life, my mind just skips over all the small stuff.
i.e. I imagine a red car. I'm in it. woohoo.
no keys or locks or anything
i try to slow down but it takes concentration.
I am a day dreamer and I use it to develop stories, poems, and various other forms of art. I day dream to music. Maybe this might help you. I make like a movie in my mind following the type of music I listen to. This might help you slow down your imagination.
Hm, I think I have day dreamed before then. Well, technically is wasn't a "day" dream cause I did it at night. I was listing to a song called "dust in the wind" in my head, not on radio, while trying to WILD and I started picturing a little music video that was actually pretty good. I was actually lost in it but then I asked myself wy it was so quite and realized my entire body was asleep and that thought made me regain feeling :(.
Haha, a topic about day dreaming? I thought everyone learned how to do this in kindergarten.
s0berbob, I do the same thing as you a lot, just skipping over parts without playing them out.
I guess I'm pretty good at day dreaming because I've always been the kind who doesn't pay attention in class, and instead crams right before a test. It always worked for me.

Seriously man, if you've ever pictured anything in your head (which I'm sure you have) then that's a daydream, run with that.
On a side note, any synaesthetics out there? Shout out, brothers. Well... I can't smell colors or anything, but I have some minor symptoms. That might help me daydream better than I realize.
Hehe I'm the same way; that's how I got through university. Though it isn't fun when you're seeing fourier analysis and analog communications for the first time the day before the final haha.Quote:

I find it's easiest to daydream while i'm walking / in motion... in class, it's more like music is stuck in my head, and I just keep listening to it nonstop. Glad I'm done school now, yesssss!
AHHH!!! I *LOVE* doing that with Coheed&Cambria albums, they all follow a story and its fun to try to make a new story every time, because the details are vague, but you still get the basic idea. God! they are genius!!Quote:

anyway, I like to daydream about philosophy and quantum mechanics, but I actually make up some goofy theory that usually involves super expanded pie. I know, I'm cool 8)
