Lucid dreaming and dream recall while sick/injured --

Have you guys noticed when you are sick/have a painful injury your dream recall tapers off?
The lucid dreams don't happen as frequently or they feel low-quality compared to dreaming when you're healthy?
Do certain techniques seem to stop working?

I don't have any memory of pointedly being sick or injured while dreaming, but I assume it must have happened.

Could be wrong (2 minutes of research haven't given me anything useful), but it's probably because when you are sick it's N-REM sleep that has the largest benefits, since it's the one who is "mostly" responsible for physical restoration. More N-REM= less rem, less rem= less chances for lucidity.

PS: zoth starts thinking: if this revealed to be indeed true, that means we'd have advantages to prescribe sleep medication for people with certain conditions, like flu/colds or something more serious. After all, isn't this why we sometimes put patients into induced comma?

It could also be more psychological, I was just thinking, since being sick or injured can make you stressed (or otherwise feel other annoying things) which can affect your LDing/dream quality/dream recall/etc.

Sickness causes me horrible recurrent nightmares which are vivid and I remember well. Maybe because like mentioned above, when your sick you have more N-REM sleep, so you would then have a REM rebound with wildly vivid dreams, but you should sleep a long time( maybe 8-9 hours?) to reach that REM rebound.
