      Turn Into a Machine

I talked about this a long time ago, and was just wondering if any has tried it yet...

Has anyone tried turning themselves into a machine (like a gun, jet, computer, ect...) while in a lucid dream?

Hmm I'm not sure if I'd want to be a machine.

Well, what if you turn into a computer? And you act as a real computer would? You couldn't change back, or think of anything, because now all you can do is do what you were made to do.

I've never bothered, actually. *adds to do list*

(In an attempt to keep this thread on topic, the, uh, inane portions have been moved here.)
Each new day is a chance to turn it all around.

Machines are rather rigid and strict objects to turn into. There's no...flexibility. I mean, machines are "machines" because they've yet to evolve into something more advanced, maybe even with organic compounds.

But....haha, that's funny to turn into a computer and can't turn back. Well, if you truly were a computer, you couldn't be self-aware to know that you couldn't change back.

This is extravagent idea!...what if you became a camcorder, recorded something that you'd want to remember in the dream, and it somehow permanently stuck to your conscious memory when you woke up? HMMMMM...it's interesting!

It's too bad you can't somehow take a camera into a dream with you; It would be pretty strange to go back and look at the dreamscape and notice all the stuff you missed.

Or perhaps it would be the most horrifying thing imaginable.

You know, stuff you cant remember, stuff your brain tries to forget because it is so terrifying. That's what i am afraid of seeing.

Me neither. I've had one dream pretty recently where I was CONNECTED to a machine, but it felt terrible (wires sticking out everywhere kinda like a cell in The Matrix...)

To me, the human body IS a machine, albeit a very efficient one. The machines that we humans build are just extremely deficient, primitive, and destructive compared to God's machines.

What if you tried to transform into a cyborg or android or something? You know, something with human-like intelligence, a high speed thinking capacity, super-human strength and a human form.

Cool, someone agrees with me. I had a cold a few days ago and KNOW that I was lucid several times, but I forgot them because I kept waking up around 3 or 4. I'm very, very, tired and can't fall sleep until it's really late and it's screwing up my mind.

I'd say we're the most destructive machine in existence.

Just for the record you cannot turn yourself into a machine you're mind will not allow it. No matter how hard you try. Ask me why and I'll tell ya later.

      Methinks nothing is impossible...

Cyborg. Hmmm. The idea of meshing human and machine might seem pretty cool... but I still think superhumans beat cyborgs any day...
-Even the most advanced machines that scientists are building today seem to be heading towards the same kind of complexities that biological machines have.

I see yer point, Blued. You are right. I guess I was referring to the human body in an of itself -as a "machine" (without the destructiveness of the human mind... if that were at all possible.)

I believe that anything is possible only to a degree that you are allowed. your Mind will not let you transform yourself into a machine because you, yourself has never in life experienced what it feels like to be a Metal object without density. You know what try it out and I can promise you that whenever you want to feel or reach out to touch something while you are lets say a Washer Machine I can gaurantee you will still feel your Arms, hands etc... And chances are you will still see them. In your mind you can think OH YEAH!!! Im a Toaster... But when you look around and visualize your hands they will always be there. Because your mind is tricking you into thinking that you are a Coffee Pot when you're really not.

Just because you have not experienced something doesn't mean you don't have the ability to imagine it ( 8) I know you agree...) -My point being that I have imagined being made out of solid (living) metal (and other materials/elements) some of which I have willed, and others which I simply realized I had become unconsciously. I know that doesn't mean it would ever be the same as the "actual " experience would be, but I think it can come pretty close.
This topic reminds me of that scene near the end of "The Incredible Hulk" when Banner (Sr.) travels through various states of matter/existence after bombarding himself with gamma rays. -From one pspective it's a good analogy of man's stubborn pride and his futile attempt to become "God-like." This has nothing to do specifically with becoming a machine, I'm afraid, but I like threads that just keep on going and going. :yumdumdoodledum:
