Hello. IF i ask my suconscious mind to change some of my body features do you think anything will change in my body in the real life ? Thanks.
Well, there are reports of people who have managed to relieve physical pain by willing it so during a lucid dream - kind of like a very powerful placebo effect.
Being on a device rather than my computer, my willingness to write a large paragraph telling you WHY I believe that it is possible to do these things; is quite minuscule. However, I will add that I have seen/experienced these things happen, but very minuscule changes (but noticable changes nontheless). Also, if you wish to push your body to do those type of changes, you must be able to harness the energy to become capable. Do not simply ask for this either, allow it and consciously make it a reality.
I believe yes - it´s possible - far from trying this out myself at my stage - but I do believe something psychosomatic in a good sense can be brought about.
what did change ? Please share, that is very interesting :) !
I don't think you can use LDs to effect the body much. Of course some changes, maybe because of a powerful flacebo effect like laurilendo mentioned.
But maybe not major things like growing bigger muscles or so. Just my guess

Totall time (1:59:56) but only one hour is interview.*
(00:05)*Welcome to “Unravelling the Secrets”
Interviewer: Anthony Peake*
(1:55)*
(…) Today I’m wanting to talk about the phenomenon know as*Lucid Dreamin.*
Now, it is something that has intrigued me for quite a long time. Because I’ve had an experience for many, many years called “Hypnagogic Imagery”.
Hypnagogic imagery is that sensation just before you go to bed, just before you go to sleep, where you have the sensation that your thoughts are not your own.
The images are not your own. The things you see in your head. The things you see in your visual field.
Some times (?) you’ll see geometric shapes and popularly you’ll see faces.
If it happens just as you wake up it’s called hypnopompic imagery.
Many, many people believe that at that point, just before sleeping and waking we can access parts of the subconscious that isn’t normally available to us. And if we can under those circumstances we can suddenly start to, what’s called lucid dream. And lucid dreaming is when you are in a position to know you are dreaming and therefore you can manipulate the reality around you.*
I’m delighted to have, interviewing today, a gentleman who’s on my forum under the name of YouAreDreaming, a gentleman by the name of Ian Wilson, who lives in British Columbia.
I would say that Ian’s experiences of lucid dreaming are singularly the most amazing things I have ever heard. Because not only does Ian lucid dream but he precognitively lucid dreams he is then subsequently able to manipulate the reality, we are in, in the middle of reality.*
I would like to now introduce everybody to Ian Wilson, Hi Ian.*
Guest: Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)
*(3:2O) Hi everybody, how you doing today?*
Interviewer: Anthony Peake
*(3:34)*What I would like Ian to do for the first ten minutes or so is to explain a little bit about himself and how he started lucid dreaming and indeed to explain a little bit about what he understands lucid dreaming to be.*
Guest: Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)*
(3:46)*Well, thank you Anthony.*Lucid dreaming first was introduced to me by an Army Magazine back in 1985 that Stephan Laberge had written.
I was 15 years old at the time and it intrigued me that we could be awake in our dream. And that’s what set me off on, well, how is this possible, how can I do it. It didn’t really provide any techniques but having that curiosity seemed to really fuel my interest which, in turn, produced my first lucid dream, which was, a really amazing experience and just continued on from that point for the rest of my life.*
Interviewer: Anthony Peake*
(4:20)*I see, I see, (?) Cos I remember that old magazine being wonderful. I used to enjoy that one when I was younger as well. A fantastic read I think. (..)
How do you know that you’re dreaming? What is the trigger that makes you realise that you’re actually within a dream?*
Guest: Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)*
(4:41)*It’s very interesting because it’s so self-similar to how we are when we are awake, even right now.*
* When we have our analytical and logical cognitive abilities brought into the dream state we have the ability to become self-realised and make very coherent and conscious decisions and directive intent inside the dream state. The difference is that you are legitimately in the dream world. And when you are there you have the opportunity to change that information and for the dream state can then change to accommodate what it is you want to project upon that dream canvas. But the whole time you will know that you are there.**
OK TISHBOY I AM GOING TO SKIP TOO ...
Guest: Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)*
(18:53)*
And I can’t even begin to explain how more powerful that was than just normal precognition because it was the year of my graduation and me and my friends wanted to go to (?) Lake and celebrate and we roast some marshmallows and have fun.
And when I got to that point in waking reality, and this is where you hear about the day-sha-vu like what we talked about, that aura when you have a sense or knowing, or familiarity, it’s like walking through a gateway or a portal, that finite-second, that little nano-second, where that dream matches up with physical reality and now we’re engaging that information.
It was just very powerful because I couldn’t escape the knowing that I was there in a lucid state and I couldn’t escape the memory of how that came about and all of the information that was there.*
All I was doing now in physical waking reality was reliving that experience and doing it in a very strange way.*It was one way to experience that paradox, but that said, it must be very overwhelmed, and I remember going home that day exhausted by the experience, frightened by the experience because it opened up much more of what is going on in “waking reality”, and really merge “dream reality” in a way that’s hard to explain the impact it had on me.*
And I actually shut down a little bit. I stopped lucid dreaming for a bit.
I was legitimately a little bit concerned about it because it was so powerful.*
But later-on in life I started having more experiences again with what we’d call a passive precognitive lucid dream where you are there with the information but your not actively engaging it, your going with the flow and when it actualizes, again I’m seeing (?) And then finally I think,*
“Well, can I make a change?”
*“What’s the next step with this?”*
“Is there anything I can do to try to influence this dream?”*
“Like, what’s really going on with the mechanics?”*So it came to the point where I realized at this point that there is a bunch of themes, levels or states that we enter into when we dream. And one of those states, one of those levels seems to be precognitive in nature.*
And some how I’m already there. All of us are already there as a matter of fact. And it is a matter of bringing my awareness and my intent to that focus state.*
So I started layers of mapping. Where I would just use, um, using dream-control, just these little shapes and these little symbols, these little marks, in these different layers. And just (?) to see if I do eventually get to a precognitive dream and apply this technique, is it going to have any results?
And sure enough, in the case of one example, that I have in photograph, um, in one dream, I’m lucid and I see a person that I know and (…) I just changed the dream*by putting a triangle on his forehead.*
More later Tishboy
*Here is more, Tishboy
(…) I just changed the dream*by putting a triangle on his forehead*.*
So, it’s easy because it’s a dream, that’s all I can say.*When it actualized* Well, that’s part of the mystery.*Sure enough I went through the same motions of the dream and the triangle did appearand I was able to take a photograph of it, and have this experience.
And there were other similar experiences that occurred but unfortunately I didn’t have a camera so with some of them I have no evidence of it.*
(...)
Interviewer:
Anthony Peake
*(22:05)*
So,
this is important.*So, as I understand the circumstances:*
You were in the position where you are dreaming and you become lucid.
And then you realize that your lucid.*
You then realize that you can manipulate the environment your in within the lucid dream state.*
Guest:
Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)
(22:22)*
That’s right.*
Interviewer:
Anthony Peake
*(22:24)*
And you manipulate the reality around you within the lucid dream state to draw, for want of a better term, a red triangle, on the forehead of one of your work associates.*
Guest:
Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)
(22:33)*
That’s right.*
Interviewer:
Anthony Peake*
(22:34)*
You then wake-up,
and then, a time later,
you find yourself reliving the precognitive circumstances of the dream
i.e. it’s almost like as our associate Dr. Arthur Funkhowser would say, that you had a precognitive dream that you then start to remember and you almost feel it is a day-shar-vu sensation or a day-sha-veku sensation.*
You then realize that you originally manipulated the reality in your dream.
*And then you actually “actualize” That, in [u]real time[/b] and in real space.*
And was able to create in this reality something that was in one of your dreams
*Correct?
Guest:
Ian Wilson (aka YouAreDreaming)
(23:16)*
Absolutely*
Interviewer:
Anthony Peake*
(23:22)*
And as you can see,
if people can see the photograph in the picture,
this is actually a picture of obviously the reality rather than the dream
of the gentleman who you actually managed to put the triangle on his forehead
Now this to me is one of the most spectacular pieces of veridical information that I have seen in such a long time because clearly it shows …*
Well it’s mind-blowing in its implications, isn’t it?*
It means you can be dreaming and realize that this dream is part of the future and then change the future to accommodate the dream.*
To be continued (23:56)
If you expect that if after you ask your subsconcius to give you huge muscles or a 30 cm thingy wingy (assuming that youre a guy) it will work I`m here to disappoint you. How others users said its possible to stop pain (placebo effect) if you really belive that it will work because pain its caused by electric signals sent to the brain by nerves but you can`t make a huge change with your body because other than the 5 senses (taste, touch, smell etc) it has not too much bonds with the mind (except the fact that the brain its controlling the body). Its possibly to mentally change yourself like healing traumas or escaping from anxiety but you can`t grow in height or lose weight just with the power of the mind. Its just like triyng to move objects with the power of the mind
Did somebody actually tried to change something or are you just expressing your opinions ?
Yes Tishboy
Robert Waggoner interviewed Ian Wilson (YAD)
Here is part of That 2010 interview:
***
Interviewer Robert Waggoner:
About twelve years ago, you appeared on the internet with a very interesting website. On the website, you had photos and witness statements which appeared to show that you had “marked”*friends with a geometric symbol while lucid. Right? Tell me how this experiment got started.
YAD:
This is something rarely seen in our dream literature. While lucid and using my intent, I changed a dream that had precognitive potential and involved another person’s body. Later in waking reality, the dream*“materialized”*or came true.
Over the years, I have done this many times. I will provide some details and a bit of theory and methodology should the reader wish to pursue this avenue of exploration.

YAD has several threads here on Dreamviews. YAD stands for You Are Dreaming.
This is a very interesting topic because one of the reasons why I began lucid dreaming is exactly the possibility of changing my subconscious mind in the dream and, consequently, changing the "physical reality".
I don't know whether you believe in the law of attraction or not, because part of it, like "the universe will give it to you" is quite mumbo-jumbo, frankly said. Nonetheless, there is scientific evidence that our subconcious mind has huge creative potential: by imprinting our subconscious mind with the type of reality we want to get, we can actually get that reality. Our brain, in fact, can't spot the difference between something real and something vividly imagined and the external reality will tend to match the internal one.
So if you have experienced the Y type of reality so far and you start visualizing (google "creative visualization" to know what I'm talking about) or, even better, lucid dreaming about the X type of reality, your brain will automatically look for ways to achieve the X type of reality and will eventually achieve it.
What does it mean? It means that, if for example you are afraid of giving publich speeches, you can visualize yourself (or lucid dream) giving them effortlessly and confidently. This in turn will create new pathways in your brain and you'll actually start acting more confidently in real life. If you want to find love, visualize or lucid dream it and you'll find it.
Now, concerning the "I want to drive a Ferrari" or "I want to earn 100.000$ a year", it may take a little bit more time (and that's way most people think it is bullshit), but eventually it will manifest in your life because eventually you'll subconscious mind will find a way.
So yes, our minds are veeery powerful ;)
Actually, you can ;) A study has been made in which participants increased muscle just by using mental imagery of themselves exercising, you can watch a small video mentioning some of them in this link. In that sense, lucid dreaming would work even better.
Before you ask tishoy, this has nothing to do with "asking your subconscious mind": your subconscious isn't an entity you can "ask" things, merely a bunch of processes that are outside your awareness.
Edit: Gave it a second thought, and not sure if the study mentions actual muscle growth (it refers only to increase in strength), so ravanoos might actually be right to some extent (I still want to believe it's possible I confess :P).
Well I think that is true that if you do physhical exercises in a dream it has an effect on your real body so in this case my previous affirmation would be wrong. But I have an argument what comes in my help: Let`s say that if you do a pushup in a dream, it has the same effect is has if you do it in the waking life (even if I don't think that It has such a great effect). If it has the same effect this means that if you do like 50 pushups in a dream, when you wake up you`ll be all sweaty, just like after 50 pushups in the waking life. If it has the same effect this means that in the morning you`ll wake up tired. The question is : Why to do exercises in a lucid dream and waste your lucid dreaming time when you could do this in the real life? You may say: in a LD you don't feel pain if you overtrain but remember that when you wake up you`ll feel that pain. But anyway this isnt going to happen because how I said I believe that exercising in a dream has some effect on your body, I don't believe that it has such a great effect. And by the way I know that the subconcious isnt an entity but in my dreams I like to put it in a person and talk to it like to a friend. It may sound strange but it works! Your subconcious knows you better than everybody and a little talk with him could heal emotional problems! you may belive right now that I`m talking about a dream guide or something like this but I am not. I know that its hard to open speak with your subsconcious but it isnt impossible!
Physical changes such as hight nose size arm length impossible.
Weight-loss, infections and stuff like fantom pains / smoking etc.. sure you can that's simply changing the state of your mind and having the right parts of your body working better such as the metabolism, more infection fighting blood cells within the body etc.. I mean its possible in hypnotherapy which is an inferior form of lucid dreaming.
