      Dream character won't talk

Ok, I don't even know where to put this question as it seems to have a little bit of everything in it. If you think it would fit better somewhere else, I'm really sorry for posting it here.
There is this guy, my mom keeps dreaming of. I know him in "real life", she doesn't. She only knows him from what I told her about him and she has seen him in pictures. Now the thing is that all the other dream characters talk to my mom, both in "normal" dreams and in lucid dreams. But he won't. No matter what she says to him, he just stands there and stares at her. I know it sounds weird but that's what's going on. Communication seems to be not possible with him.
Do you have any idea what's going on there? How can we make this dream character talk? And no, he is not handicapped in his waking life so assumming he should behave like a dumb person can be outruled.

A first thought that hit me while reading this. Is that since she only heard you talking about him, and seen pictures. Maybe your moms subconscious sees this guy like this. Like a person without a voice. She could try to tell him (if she is aware in her dreams) "it's ok, you can speak whenever you feel like it" Then there is no expectations for her to try to force him to speak.

@ DreamyBear. Thank you very much for your response. I really like the way you approached this problem - as not in forever would I have come up with the idea that maybe he isn't talking because she has never seen him move or talk. But that's a great thought. I told her about it and I also recommended her to "abuse" him as a dream sign and to do a RC whenever he shows up. If anything happens I'll make sure to post it.

You’re welcome LuluD49. It sure was an interesting problem, and if there comes up any new one's I'll be glad to share my point of view. To use him as a dream sign sounds like a excellent idea! Well I hope your mom will overcome this now, and I wish her the luck to do so. take care.
