      Remembering the night?

I've started trying to LD since the first of the year and have wrote in a DJ every day. At first I wasn't remembering any dreams, and then it got to the point where I was remembering 2-3 dreams a night, and could remember most of the plot points. Most of the last few weeks have been from me waking up due to night sweats, so I really haven't even had the chance to sleep the 4 full hours, so when I would wake up to my alarm I usually didn't have enough sleep yet so I fail every night.

During the past 3 days my night sweats have gone away. Last night, I can't really explain it - because I don't remember waking up, but I remember being conscious enough to realize I was dreaming and I was telling myself I needed to remember the dream, and I was just trying to think through the dream so I could remember it for the morning. Next thing I know it is 9AM, which was 7 hours of sleep for me. I check my phone, and the alarm is all the way off, not just on snooze.

Which is very strange because to turn off my phone alarm I have to unlock it and then I'm able to turn it off. The thing is, I have no recollection of ever waking up to turn it off, and when I woke up in the morning I couldn't remember any dreams except I did remember that I had a dream and kept reminding myself to remember it.

So I am very confused about what happened - did I wake up for such a short time and then fell into a lucid dream when my alarm went off, and the lucid dream was just me telling myself I needed to remember the dream? Why can't I remember waking up to my alarm? Any good ways to wake up 4 hours after sleeping without an alarm?

Just looking for answers to questions like that. Thanks in advance.

What I can say is, that if we suddenly wake up from a deep sleep and then go back to sleep, we normally have no recollection of waking up at all. I suspect that's how our alarm got turned off.

As to your dream or LD - if you realized you are dreaming, while inside of a dream, that was a lucid dream. Normally after a lucid dream we do wake up, mostly from excitement that we succeeded. But if you woke up and told yourself that you would rather memorize it and not get up to write it down, it's possible to fell asleep after a lucid dream and now you don't remember much of it.

      .
This happens to me every school day, as I set an alarm for 6:00, but never wake up till 6:30, so I forget everyday that I shut it off .
