I've been having this... thing, it's not a big problem, but I'm curious about it. When I'm LDing I can perfectly remember the task I wanted to do or many other things, like memories of things I've done, etc.. But when I try to remember how my bedroom looks like, or my house, or certain appearance of things from waking life, I simply fail to remember or need great effort to do so. It's quite strange, like some dream-Alzheimer. Is there anyone with the same situation?
It's certainly not the usual affair to try and activate my memory in an LD.

Didn't have the personal experience of it being appearances, I can't recall.
It's often - I forget to try to remember more, than what comes to my mind spontaneously..:roll:
If you read up on the scientific models of memory, you'll see that it's divided in many ways and areas. You may be familiar with the idea of short-term vs long-term memory. That's elementary compared to the more complex models that scientists have come up with, with more divisions and specialization. Each area has its strengths and weaknesses in terms of capacity and recall. The wikipedia page is a nice overview: Memory - Wikipedia. When we are asleep, it's likely that some memory areas are more suppressed than others, just like reasoning and sensation. Lucid dreaming seems to wake up some areas of the brain that usually aren't active during normal sleep but it's not always the same as waking brain function, so memory function is impaired in interesting and unusual ways.
I wonder - if you WILD - maybe that's not a concern then?
Because you have your brain working properly before entry?
Can somebody elucidate me there - didn't manage a WILD myself yet.
