Can you explain this ?

I'm an active dreamer, And 90% of the times i can say outloud in my dream "This is a dream"

But i can never change the "setting" of the dream, For example If i start the dream in the jungle, I cant go to a city, Its always jungle. (until i reset my dream - waking up and falling back asleep instantly, Which changes everything about the dream)

Anyways im off topic , My question is: When i set my mind to do something in a dream, Something always comes up.

For example, Last nights dream

I was trying to login to PayPal, But when i clicked the internet button 100 pages opened to spam, I closed them all 1 by 1, And reopened the internet, and typed in paypal.--- and then my neighbor came over yelling at me, Once i delt with him, The power turned off when i tried to get on the computer again. (I was lucid, I was trying hard to get into my paypal account, But my dream just wouldnt let me)

This isnt the only time, It happens alot, Ill realize im lucid, And then Ill try and do something, And it will never get done, Everytime i get close to doing something, Something else happens and blocks me from it...

Random examples: Im trying to walk out of the city to get into the country, and i fall in a black hole, and "Respawn" outside hole, Everytime i walk "out of bounds" i fall in the black hole and "respawn"

Or i try and jump out of a plane, because i dont want to be in the plane my whole dream, And it keeps respawning me inside

Its like someone is controling my dreams saying "This is where you should be, And you should/shouldnt be doing this, And if you break the rules, We will "Get you back on track"
Why does this happen ?


Also, I dream alot, Many dreams per night, 90% of the time im Running/Jumping/Floating(almost flying)/Fighting

Im almost always being chased by werewolves / Vampires / canibals / Creatures . This used to scare me, Now its fun. (Just random information)

I suggest letting the dream explain itself. It seems the dream prevents you from doing your thing, because you were supposed to learn something from it. Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you something urgent and you aren't listening. Next time you become lucid, don't try to cotrol it right away. Let the dream go on and show you whatever it wants to, or even ask for it yourself. Maybe it'll help, maybe it won't, but it's definitely worth a try.

If you feel that you're okey with exposing your self here. Then it's possible to get an answear to your question or at least closer. Since dreams are a product of once waking life, wich involves our sense experiences/thoughts and emotions. The emotion part plays a big role in dreams since that's whats make us do and experience things in the first place. So my suggestion to you is this. The more you can tell about your personality and problems you struggle with. The easier it getts to connect the two. Wich is the kind of dreams you have, to your waking life.

This always happens to me!!! like last night there was this realy sexy female in my dream who i was trying to pursue but i felt like i couldn't and i angrily said "THIS IS MY DREAM I CAN GET HER IF I WANT" and i still didn't turn lucid -.-

This reminded me of The Stanley Parable. My guess is that your imagination is largely influenced by movies and video games. Your dreams play out like a video game because that's your most convenient point of reference to explain such a strange experience. Which is mostly fine except it also brings along unwanted tropes like "respawning" and "out of bounds." The dream manifests rules and a "script" because that's what you expect from a fictional story.

Even if it's not video games, the point is the same. The realm of possibilities in a dream is limited only by your imagination, but your imagination is based on your personal interests, experiences, skills, and so on. To expand the possibilities, you need to open yourself to a boarder view of what dreams are. A dream is entirely your own creation, both conscious and unconscious. There are no rules. If there seem to be rules, it's the residue of your beliefs about the waking world or archetypes from fictional worlds. That is easy to understand intellectually, but it takes practice and experience to really grasp that truth intuitively so that it sinks into the unconscious too. There's many topics in the Dream Control subforum that go into more detail about expectation and overcoming doubts and limitations, so I suggest browsing there.

I wonder what you were planning on doing with you PayPal account? You say that you were lucid, so you must have had something in mind when you were trying to log on to PayPal. Perhaps the answer lies in whatever your plan for the dream was.

EDIT: also, I just Seized the opportunity, I went lucid while looking at the computer. So i was in a Subconscious world still

In the "Real world" i made a payment to a company, Actually, Its more like they took my money, So i was trying to find out who they were. After doing a little research ive come to this conclusion
; I wasn't able to "Find out who they were" Because in the real world i know nothing about them, And since you cant dream about what you don't know,, well im sure you guys get it

From age 15-19 i was homeless in states custody, I ran away and lived my life ,, Mostly at the park and at friends house, I spent a good majority of that time "Looking over my shoulder",, whether it be police or a drug addict, there was alot of running and fighting in my childhood.

Once i was about 20, I found a place to live, And spent a vast majority of it "In doors" Because i've seen more than most people would want to see "Outside" So, I spent most of that time watching Science Fiction movies / Games.

Wolves in my Childhood dreams used to scare me. ( I live in the country) And I was in a field around midnight, And i hear two packs of cyote's , That i assume are fighting over territory ? And were barking Very quick and very loud , Quick enough where 1 cyote would sound like it was three, There were no tree's in this field , So i was scared for my life,,, They didnt come after me, But then again they didnt see me

Nowadays, Fighting vampires and werewolves in my dreams aren't scary,, Because 90% of my dreams im running/fighting for my life.. I've kind of got used to it, I Enjoy nightmares now, Because its all that i have.

Once my daughter was born, I started having dreams about her, None of those have ever been a nightmare, So thats where the other 10% comes in.

Last nights dream (Not lucid, I thought it was real in the dream) Half of my head was sawed off, And every 30 minutes or so i would have to pour blood on my brain to keep it from drying out. Thats all i can remember, There was alot more going on though that i've forgot

I just Googled Stanley Parable, And its almost exactly like that!!

My imagination nowadays is largely influenced by Science Fiction, Whatever form of it i can get. For the simple fact, I've Experienced Reality, and its just not enough. I do not play many games, But I will watch maybe 7 movies a week, All being Science fiction or fantasy

I thought it might be something like that. I have had experiences like this when trying to get information that wasn't available. I wasn't even trying to divine something I couldn't possibly know, but attempting to access a memory of something I had misplaced. And my dream gave me the runaround too, making me think I was close to getting the answer, and then putting obstacles in my way. So that's probably what happened to you.

You might want to to make a plan for what you really want to do the next time you have a lucid. There is lots of fun to be had, and you won't need a computer for any of it. :)
