      What do you guys think?

      Hi guys,

I want to share with you a weird experience I had last night/this morning. I've experienced sleep paralysis once in my life, and found it to be a terrifying experience. I didn't try to have a lucid dream at the time, but believe it was a result of lack of sleep and possible sleeping during the day beforehand. Anyway, that's not exactly what I was going to talk about. I want to share with you my 'nightmare' (if you will), and see if anyone else has experienced this type of thing.

I went to sleep at roughly 1 o'clock this morning, and experienced something terrifying. I don't remember how it all started, but within my dream, I dreamed I was experiencing sleep paralysis and kept waking up and going back to sleep within my dream. Every time I went back to sleep I would 'continue' the sleep paralysis and physically could not keep my eyes open and therefore I experienced this three times consecutively before waking up fully in my dream (I was still sleeping). I'll tell you now these sleep paralysis episodes within my dream were far more terrifying than the 'real' sleep paralysis episode I encountered just a month or two ago. Anyway - once I was awake in my dream, I proceeded my dream as a younger version of me, crying because of these sleep paralysis episodes. I won't continue telling you the minor details of the dream, but once I was awake in real life, it was only 3 am which implied I was only asleep for 2 hours, whereas it felt like it was longer than any other dream I had experienced.

I have noticed my dreams are becoming much more vivid to me than normal, which is great, but I was really dissatisfied with this experience due to how terrifying it was. I had absolutely no control over my body, so I guess you could call it a nightmare?

Long story short: I had several sleep paralysis episodes within my dream.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this??

When you start increasing your dream awareness, some crazy things can start to happen. It might not seem like it now but you may start to get used to these episodes and use them as a cue for entering a lucid dream.

I sometimes get this thing where I get a weird sleep paralysis scenario - it's as if my body is locked in position on my bed, and my vision is fixed on a certain spot: I cant move my eyeballs at all. this used to freak me out completely, I would panic and use the head shaking trick to wake myself up (more about that later). But now I am used to this happening - I eventually figured out I could haul my 'non pyhsical' body up, and crawl to the edge of my room, down the hallway and into the other parts of my house, just by using my sense of touch, all while my vision and physical body remained locked in sleep paralysis. I found that if i manage to crawl far enough away from my paralysed body, my vision will snap to where i have crawled to, and i am then free to do as I want - a completely lucid dream. Im not sure if I explained that properly - its just such a bizzare feeling that it's almost inexplicable.

Basically, next time it happens, try not to freak out - just notice all the wacky things happening and KNOW that it is just a sleep paralysis. You can always wake yourself up by shaking your head - a safety or fallback if you please. With this in mind, you are free to experiment with your state of paralysis.

I'm just re-reading what you wrote now and feel like I might be missing the point, damnit. Oh well, I'll post anyway, maybe some of this rambling will be helpful.

      Best of luck!

      Duncan

Idk why but I never experience Sleep Paralysis. I kind of don't want to either, I can stay up all night like I do a lot and never go into it.

Same here, never happened. I even tried many times to purposefully induce it and nothing. We should consider ourselves lucky, though. There are many truly terrifying stories about SP, whether the experiences are real or not.

Yeah that's why I kind of don't want to because I don't like hearing those scary stories. I just don't have the guts to do it :b lol

I've never experienced sleep paralysis either. I tend to have the opposite problem. I sleep walk, talk, and flail around during very active dreams.

I woke up confused in my first SP experience. I was literally unaware if I was awake or not, particularly since I thought I was dead during the experience.
