How long does your happy giddiness from a lucid lasts?
To be honest, I can't say I've experienced a lucid 'high'.
it might just be because im off my a-game but iunno
I remember feeling particularly good after a split second bliss in a lucid dream; I was flying and suddenly below me was a stunning view. I woke up immediately after that but I remember feeling good for a couple of minutes. I am happy after most lucid dreams but I have never really had a high like you. Maybe I will if I someday have a really awesome lucid dream, some day..
I don't usually get that much of a "high", i usually just get visual hallucinations if i stay still enough.
Certainly for the day of the LD itself. Lots of fist pumps, "YES!"'s, and a bit of maniacal laughter, yes, for a good LD. Usually by the second day I'm expecting another LD and if I don't get one the grumpies can begin :).
It depends on the length of the LD and what I did during the LD. When I have very short LDs the high typically lasts for a couple of hours. For a long LD it can last for a couple of day. Add in doing something awesome and I could feel great for even longer. Sadly, most of my LDs are pretty short.
It can last for a whole day, if it was something special - and I'm completely loving it!
I wonder, if it might even help depressed people - to get an outlook how you could be feeling.
But I can also get quite grumpy, if I wake up after some seconds only..
All depends on the LD. If I accomplished a goal it can last a loooooong time. Right now I am still feeling pretty good about my fighting lucid that I had a few days ago.

Not really a high anymore, but definitely feel great about it still.
If I have a really aware lucid I normally feel good till the next night. Not very aware lucid has little or no effect anymore :/
It depends if I get distracted or not, it could last a couple of seconds right after waking up or most of the day.
Two days, usually. But, man, is it brilliant.
If the LD was good, it can last a full day pretty easily. Today, I had that general sense of complete happiness which lasted for a couple of hours because of a Normal dream! I don't get that pretty often :( but it was nice enough to get me back to DV again :P
I remember one of my early LDs - it was night, in a parking lot near skyscrapers in japan. However, the detail was just surrealistic... It was just more precise than my normal perception of reality. I just stood there and was totally speechless. It only lasted about a minute but I just felt totally awesome the entire day.
I agree. Often times it depend on length of a lucid, if you accomplished any ToTMs or your personal goals. They get me pretty stoked regardless. All the extras are more of a bonus.
Sometimes I get so super happy in a lucid the moment I realize I'm dreaming, that it wakes me up. But I don't mind one bit. Because then this out-of-this-world happy feeling stays with me for at least a day. I mean I giggle in a lucid histerically when I realize I'm lucid. Not always, but often enough. And I can't stop myself. I feel my face having a huge grin and I often wonder, if I really do it. If someone saw me, if he could tell.
I could have written that! I'm whistling and skipping the whole day, thinking I'm on a roll... and then the gods of lucidity say, "No you're not" and I'll be grumpy the next day because I didn't get another fix.
I know for a fact that it does!
DEILD baby!
I would add that sometimes I completely forgot that I had a lucid the last night until something during the day triggers my memory and then it hits me the same way, specially if it was one of those long lasting lucids, then high. ;)
I had a lucid dream last night!! It was AWESOME albeit too short. I woke up from that dream at 4:30 am and was so high I couldn't go back to sleep. So, I did an insanity workout then got ready and got to work by 6:30 am. I am still feeling FAN-FRIGGEN-TASTIC!
Congrats on the ld, Tygar! :D
@ OP - isn't it awesome how just a single dream can make your mood for the rest of the day? Usually, the euphoria would last for at least couple of hours or until I run into someone to spoil my mood. At other times it might help me go through the negativity of day and last even longer, especially if the dream was very good.
I had a crappy night of sleep with two negative dreams but finished with an unexpected deild from a non-ld. My mood is at its best now. :)
It probably wouldn't help depression caused by hormone imbalances. But, it could definitely help people who's depression is situational (like stress) or from other mental conditions. In these cases the LDs would have to come pretty regularly or the frustration of not having them could cause further depression.
Two years ago I had a lucid dream where I met a beautiful girl and kissed her in a very intimate and passionate way for a long time, and it felt incredibly realistic, and I believe we started to slowly lift from the ground after a while.
When I woke up from that dream I went around and laughed aloud randomly for myself, and constantly repeated something like "haha, goddamn... man, wow!".
I think I did that for about an hour.
