      "Dream feeling" IWL?

Mods, if this is in the wrong section go ahead and move it.

Anyone who has ever LD'd know the dream feeling. I'm not exactly sure if it's the same for everyone, but it is very easily recognizable. Your body feels surreal, you have increased awareness, etc. For the last week or so I've been waking up and feeling the "dream" feeling. Every moment of every day, and I can't will it to go away. I don't really understand why, but I'll do my best to explain what I feel. Even as I type this I feel: a general numbness, tingling in the pit of my stomach, lightheadedness and an unwarranted interest for stimulation of the senses. It's almost as if I am standing beside myself at all times. I find it very easy to lose myself in certain senses, for instance a couple of days ago I was looking at the night sky. It felt as if my complete focus (consciousness?) had drained into the night sky. I just stood there for a few minutes before grasping hold again. This has happened on multiple occasions. Actually, while I was typing just now it happened. I just kinda lost focus for a couple of minutes for no apparent reason. My awareness had spiked while it happened, but it was involuntary.

Let me note that I am a teenaged male who is still in the middle of puberty, so this very well be a natural part of growing up. I have recently (the last 8 months) suffered through my parents terrible, terrible divorce and I have developed some sort of anxiety disorder/ my disorder has worsened immensely. I am a very obsessive individual, so it's very likely that I have OCD with only the obsessive part- 10% of people who have OCD are only obsessive, not compulsive. OCD is an anxiety-based disorder. Recently I have also suffered from almost bipolar mood swings, from having to skip school because of being seriously depressed to being the most talkative person in class. I am/was extremely introverted. Sometimes I wake up and feel crap for a 3-4 days to a week at a time, and then it's a mix of sad/happy for a day or two, and then I am super energized for 2-3 days. When I'm super energized I can only sleep for 3 hours or less and still feel like I slept normally. I know these symptoms are super bipolar, but again I am going through puberty so I honestly have no idea if this anything odd. My grandfather is bipolar, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch if I was myself. I just thought that this would be helpful information to anybody who's trying to give serious thought to what I'm going through. I have also been self-medicating with cannabis every 2-3 days when I feel helpless. I really appreciate everyone reading this. I hope you can help! If you have any questions, go ahead and ask. Thanks!

I have gone through phases like this. I understand what it is.

As far as your disorders, it may have something to do with it, but I doubt so. It seems natural.
I go into that "place" where I feel the symptoms you mentioned. It never happened to me before I started lucid dreaming.
Lucid dreaming wonders me, I tell you. It changes the way you think, the way you perceive things.
Are these symptoms a problem for you? Are they unwanted? Or are you simply looking for their origins?

Are you speaking of the symptoms of the dream feeling or the symptoms of the "disorders"?

For the dream feeling, I don't really mind it, it's just an odd phase for me. I would be ok if it didn't go away.

And for the disorders, yes, the symptoms bother me a lot and I wish I didn't have them.

I personally love the "lucid feeling", because it gives me a foreraste of lucid dreaming, keeps me motivated and also makes everyday waking life feel much more exciting.
I honestly see no problem at all with that feeling - on the contrary! - as long as it's still possible to tell the difference between waking life and dreaming.

I mean come on, why would it be a problem to have the fascinating surrealistic feeling while you are awake?

It isn't a problem, like I said. It was something I had never heard of and hadn't found any posts about, so I decided to ask about. I'm glad that other people have experienced this too. That means that I'm not crazy (I hope.)

I guess I misunderstood your original post.
Anyway, it's totally normal to have a more "surrealistic" feel even during waking life when you practice lucid dreaming.
Lucid dreaming makes you view waking life in a different way, and the lucid dreaming feel will eventually start to carry over to your waking life as well.
