General advice needed please :)

Hi Everyone,

I've had an interest in lucid dreaming for about a year and a half. First few months I took very seriously and had no results and the last year I've kind of been lazily trying to have lucid dreams on and off but recently I've become more motivated. I now few techniques, i'm doing reality checks during the day and I am normally able to record my dreams but so far I've had no success.

I was hoping talking to people on here might help. Any advice which you think might help me have my first lucid dream? All responses welcome.

Hello dreamer,

I would look into the class section and look into meditation. Its a great technique and is something I myself am still trying to get better at. You dont need to do an hour of meditation just simply 5 minutes or so will even help thorugh out the day. :)

I advise you to read Sageous' first post in this thread, I think this is the truth and the one and only way to mastering lucidity. And mr Falcon here is right , even just 5 minutes of meditation helps a ton to improve recall and lucidity.

What also helps, is joining a beginner course. Experienced and friendly members of this forum will help you on your journey, answer questions and comment on your progress. At least, that's what they say they do :P Click this link to take a look at the intro class

To have your first lucid dream, all I can say is to keep trying and that you'll eventually succeed. Stick with one or two techniques that you feel comfortable with. Oh, how do you do your reality checks? Do you do them on "auto-pilot" without awareness, or are you questioning your reality while doing them?

Notice your waking world

To be conscious in your dream world means you have to be conscious in your waking world.*That might sound crazy, as you are conscious when you are awake.*However what I mean is ‘consciously focused’ .*For example you are consciously focused when learning a new task, you are thinking about every action you are taking to get the right steps. When you have learned the new task you no longer have to focus as intently as you did when learning it.*Being consciously focused means looking around you and saying what you see, feel, hear, smell and touch and voicing it.*This has the added benefit of being in the moment and can help you to inner calmness, it’s almost zen like.

If you start to consciously focus on the world around you, you will carry this over into the dream world.
