dreaming you had a lucid dream..

hi, um, im just starting out on attempting lucid dreaming, and this dream i had last night really troubled me. i vaguely remember the entire dream, but during the middle i remembered to do a reality check. so i looked at my fingers and hands. my hands were not normal, but were covered in cuts and gashes. so i was pleased that yes! this is a dream. problem was, only now i remember when i said that, i wasn't in control. i was dreaming of lucid dreaming! the first thing i had in mind was to fly, so i held out my harms, and levitated. then everything went to black and i remember my next dream starting. even when i decided to fly, it wasn't really my decision. does anyone know how to overcome this problem. it's so stressful, that im not even control of my 'lucid dreams'.

I have had this problem to, I bet just about everyone has, although I haven't reached a stage of total control yet from my own experience this happened a few times but the more of these I had I would notice that I would be slightly more awake if that makes sense, everyone is different when it comes to lucid dreaming it takes longer for some to do it than it does for others but I can tell you that the longer you stick at it even though you may not have a single lucid dream for month or multiple months the more likely you are to succeed. Personally I find the hardest part is keeping motivated, remembering to do reality checks, dream journal and reading about lucid dreaming that sort of stuff. Just keep trying and eventually you will have that experience where you gain full self awareness.

Practice and don't give up hope. Before you fall asleep tell yourself repeatedly that you will be in control, eventually you will get it. I had a dream a while back that I was in sleep paralysis.
