How to get out of a endless pit?

Hey so i often have this dream where i'm endlessly falling down into a dark void. like.. "Skydiving". At some point in my dream i just start falling and i haven't found a way to get out of this void except just waking up by closing my eyes really tight and open them

those dreams usually start as a non-lucid dream but in the middle of the dream i'll just start falling down... and realize that i'm dreaming. It's like a dream sign but a really sucky one.

The pit is just pitch black and has nothing in it like theres no ground, no sky, and i just endlessly fall down and it feels really vivid. My heart pounds and i can even feel some wind against my skin. and i hate it.

I've tried to fly out of it but it's like impossible for me cos its all dark and there no light above me (anything really) so i dont even know where to fly. and more importantly the falling sensation is sooo strong its really hard for me to focus to fly or change the scene or do anything.

ive had this dream quite often since i can remember and wonder if any of you here have experienced something similar :/ and i really need some help on how to get out of this pit other than just waking up

Much of dream control relies on confidence. In the end it is you who are dreaming, everything is happening in your head and you are the master. It is like when you are having a nightmare of someone chasing you and to stop it you have to just stop running and turn around. Try shouting "Let there be light!" assertively.

Also, if you are lucid, then try doing something; something different than just waking up. Start with something simple, like standing up, and work your way up to remembering that this is a dream, that this pit is by no means real, and this falling stuff doesn't matter and will end soon. Then try simply remembering something else, something specific: perhaps a recent place you visited in waking life, or perhaps a place you really want to go in your dreams... basically give your dreaming mind some fuel for getting you out of this falling loop it has given you.

That's what dreams like this are, I think: sort of a feedback loop in your unconscious's dream-processing system. And sometimes you just have to give the system a little nudge to get it back in motion. So try thinking of it as such, and not as something real, add some new fuel to your dreaming engine, and you might see that bottomless pit finally emerge into a much more agreeable place.

Falling in blackness is how my WILDs start. It used to bother me but not anymore. You want to use dream control to exit, but I think the hurdle is that the feelings of struggle and panic make attempts at dream control just desperation, and thus ineffective.

So I think the first adjustment to make is to reframe the situation in the positive. You became lucid! Congratulate yourself for that and allow yourself to be happy and excited for that, regardless of the scene. Then, don't try too hard to escape the void. I've come to find it quite pleasant, falling with a nice breeze of wind. I think the panic comes either from the sensation of great speed or the fear of being lost. Reframe that. You aren't going anywhere fast and you aren't lost because there's no where else to go in a void. You're right where you are and it's a familiar place. That was the trick for me: to be calm and content in the void because I know there's no danger. Once I achieve that calm, then I am better able to exercise control. I can stay in the void if I like. Or when I want, I visualize a scene below me and gently fall and land on it with the ease of Superman. It's not an attempt to escape. Falling becomes a transition to a new scene.

You can imagine someone grabbing you and taking you out of the situation. Its what I use to do when I had a falling dream.
