It has been 7 years since I moved from Syria to the U.S. Lucid Dreaming allows me to visit it.

I have been in the U.S. for 7 and a half years after moving from Syria. Since then I have not visited my home country. However, when I started experiencing lucid dreaming 5 months ago, 2/3 of my lucid dreams spontaneously occurred in Syria.

It felt so nostalgic having these lucid dreams. It was so vivid and so clear that as far my brain was concerned, I was actually in Syria. I kid you not, even the smell of the air was the same! I visited my old house, I walked around in many places that I remember from there.

It is amazing to me how much and how clearly your brain can remember, even after such a long time. I had begun to forget how everything there felt and looked like until I started lucid dreaming about it. I could see my memory of Syria as clearly as I see the waking life. Stunningly gratifying.
I just wanted to share this experience and give you an idea of how powerful lucid dreaming could be.

Tl;dr: using lucid dreaming I was able to visit places in Syria in my dreams. They were as clear and as vivid as the waking life. Breathtaking experience.
