      Earliest Dream you Remember

Whats the earliest dream you can remember having?

Mine is from when I was about 5 years old probably (im almost 17 now.... so about 12 years ago)...

Me and my brother where playin around in the backyard, and I seen a UFO in the sky, and told my brother. But before I could finish it 'beamed' him up and after about 5 minutes he came back and then it took me.Inside the UFO it seemed like I was spinning around really fast.I remember being put back down to earth, and running inside my house.About that time I woke up.

When I was 2-3 I had a recurring dream about a dove. It started out with me running off a cliff and jumping onto a huge white dove which let me sit on it and flew me around. I was actually the age I was in real life within my dream and I clearly remember me wearing a diaper. So the dove flew me around and I was having fun when suddenly, we flew over a huge abyss. The dove then zoomed off and left me falling into the abyss screaming. That's the end. My parents always told me that when I was having the dream, I would yell out "The dove, the dove!!" and it really scared my parents. It actually scared them so bad that they bought thick curtains for our windows so that I couldn't see the doves on the sill outside...(we lived in an area with many doves).

Also, around the age of 5, I had a recurring nightmare about a scarecrow. I would walk past this house's front yard. The house was on the left side of the street and it had a brown, orange, and red scarecrow in the front yard. I would stare at it, look away, and keep walking. Then it would run towards me, trying to attack and the dream would end. The dream stopped recurring after about a year. Then surprisingly, when I was 8, the dream had a sequel. In this one, I would walk past the same yard and the same scarecrow would run out and he'd have a chainsaw and when I was running from him, he would become huge, with a huge shadow that looked like a demon. Then he would kill me.

I had a re-occuring dream once before, it happened 3 nights in a row...

I would run outside of my house and look back at it and it would be totally up in flames. This was back when I was about 6 I think.

I never really did understand why it would keep happening, so I just dismissed it.

      I was 4.

My mother's boyfriend (of the time, who turned out to be abusive) locked me in the Twix factory, turning the lights out. After laughing at me, he began chasing me around the factory.

I'm sure this has been asked before...

However, my earliest dream I can remember was a recurring dream I used to have a lot when I was propably 5 or so. I was in my cousins' house that had two floors. I was in the upper end of the stairway and started to float. I floated down the stairs into their entrance, and sometimes even into their living room. It was just amazing.

from when i was 5 or 6 years old , on a holiday:

so, i was outside, and then, GIANT WASPS attacked, so i was with this girl, we both had these old rifles, and we were shooting them (among many others)...
so this wasp-thing stings me, and i'm like screeming my ass off, and that girl just looks like , and then i dissapear, my body melted and the only thing left was my leg, the place where i was stung...

ummm it was a nightmare when i was probably about 6 which was between 9 - 10 years ago...

i was in like a virtual world i guess there was really no scenery just these like green sqares for the cieling walls and floor and this robot was trying to kill me or eat me or soemthing and the green virtual place went on forever with no turns or anyway to escape so the dream consisted of me running in a straight line away from the robot the entire time...

Earliest dream I remember is a recurring dream I had. I was in this house and there was some sort of party with Sesame Street characters. I went outside and there was this big pit in the ground, probably 15 feet deep and 15 feet wide. I went near the edge and looked down and there was the brown elephant guy from Sesame Street, dead and upside down. This scared me so I tried to back up but it was pulling me in. At the edge of the pit was a sort of handrail like what you use to get out of a pool. I grabbed onto it and tried to hold on but it would pull me in and finally it would and I woke up. Another time it was Big Bird down there.

      I was about 5-6
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

      Re: Earliest Dream you Remember

I remember once that I was in this labyrinth and it was all pitch black. The few torches that were located gave off a flourescent green color. All of the sudden I heard some voices, so I pressed myself against the wall and peeked out of the corner. I saw two egyptians (one was a Pharaoh, the other was not) and they were looking at some construction plans on a scroll.

That's really hard. It's not the earliest I remember, but there is one that really stands out from when I was a kid. Nightmare.

My mum was cleaning the fridge down the hall, and I was at the other end playing with my cat. A tiger suddenly jumped out of the ceiling and my cat ran into the next room and under the table. The tiger followed. I walked into the next room, and when I got through the door, the tiger was stood on its back legs facing me, it was sooo scary. I cried.

      I was bout 4.

When I was 3 or 4, I saw the girl I liked in preschool french kissing my new best friend. They had their arms all over each other, rubbing each others clothes in their embrace. Moving their heads side to side, they kissed better than professional actors. There was soap opera-like music in the background, I kid you not. It was this detailed. I had the sense that they were somehow beyond courtship and far beyond love. They were instead on some level of relationship where the only thing that mattered was constantly pleasing one another (not necessarily pleasuring, for they eventually stopped and laughed together, with only minimal contact). The whole scene happened in the classroom. I was watching them at exactly a right angle to the morning light shining upon them from a large window. They both had pure blond hair, as young kids usually do, so they literally shimmered.

I felt simultaneously betrayed and not betrayed, for neither of them knew I liked her, so how could I blame them? I felt simultaneously jealous and not jealous, for it really was a unique and passionate sight, like heaven, something to be celebrated! I felt simultaneously shot down and lifted, for I somehow recognized that maybe this situation would change and it might someday be me there? They were young, after all. Wouldn't they grow up and pleasently part ways to find just as pleasing relationships with others? My friend and I happened to be similar-looking people, so maybe I was her type?

This was very powerful and complicated and it is only now that I am older that I can find the words to express it. I could write on and one about this. I remember having dreams before this, for sure, but I do not remember their content. This was the first time I said, "wait a minute, this dream is both extraordinary and ridiculous," and noted it.

Now that I think of it... I bet this dream really laid down a lot of foundation for my present concept of love, romance, and joy. I always thought that this was a very important, very "mature" experience. It may be interesting to note that when I was 7 or 8, and other kids giggled at words like "sex" and "penis," I really didn't understand what the fuss was about, and was irritated by their apparent childish behavior.

Wow. I'm going to thinking about this one for days. Thank you for this thread. I mean, I just noticed that my avatar is a blonde, even though I've long outgrown that look...

The earliest dream that I can remember is from when I was 6 years old (8 years ago). An old lady with weird looking eyes and huge teeth was chasing me. I got into a car and started driving like a madman, but then the old lady appeared in front of the car and I ran her over. Then I started driving down some stairs and the old lady reappeared again in front of the car, this time I hit her and she stayed on the windshield, clawing at me. That's when I woke up. I was often afraid of asian grandmothers that year...

      my very first

I find it interesting that the first dream everyone remembers occured between the ages of 4 and 6, with most of them being around the age of 5... Furthermore, just reading all the way through them, archetypal themes/characters are very evident, as if at this age, all experience we have to tap into comes from the collective unconscious (for more info google Carl Jung or Jungian Theory) put into a five year old's context... god/other worldly beings, love, fear of natural disasters, fear of animals.... but then again... perhaps in all of our dreams, even now, we can see archetypal themes and characters put into the context of our current age.

      anyway....

the first dream i remember was also when i was five.
i was standing in what i knew to be a huge castle. i was looking out the window and the sky was a deep, bright purple (not like sunset purple... it was an unnatural shade of purple.) suddenly, i see a dinosaur walk by and eat leaves off of a tree (it was the plant eater kind, with the reeeeally long necks.) then... it just walked away. I remember having no emotional reaction. nothing even like, "neat! a dinosaur!" i was just sitting there watching.

as to the possible archetypal meanings for that, i have no clue lol

The earliest dream that I remember was a very odd one, and I'm not sure exactly when it was from, but probably 5 years old or younger. There was this rainbowy road that spiraled up, and there were all these odd planet-people ( Planets with legs, eyes, and arms. o_O) and I was being pushed up the road thing in a shopping cart by a person-like crescent moon thing.. xDD It was a weird dream, but I was a weird kid.

The earliest dream I can rememeber is from when I was 2 years old. I know I was that young because I still slept in the little bed, I moved to a large bed at age 3,when my broher was born.

      The dream reoccured every night:
I was out of my bed but still in the bedroom and I sat on my knees on a chair that was in front of the window. I just sat there looking outside. Then a black cow came on the outside of the window and it just looked inside. It had a bell around it's neck.
      Thats all I can remember.

My parents tell me that during that time I woke up crying every night saying there was a blue cow under my bed. (it wasn't blue, it was black... but when you watch a black cow in the sun then it looks as if it has a blue glow.. that was the collor of my dream cow)
      LOL

Then when my brother was born I moved into another room. There I had another dream that occured every night for over a year:
I had the feeling that it wasn't a dream but that I was awake. I was lying in my bed when suddenly my bed moved through the wall with me in it. Then suddenly I was in my school (pre-school or kindergarden, not sure how you guys call it) in a little dark room where they kept the little bikes. I was locked in there and started screaming. The next thing I remember is my mother who woke me up because I was crying in my dream.
It felt so real though..; I can still vividly remember the spinning feeling I got when I moved through the wall... wondered a lot about that... kinda like vertigo or something

When I was little, I'm not sure how old exactly, I had this dream where my mom and dad took me to the doctor's office. I guess I had to get this shot but as soon as they left the room, the doctor turned in to this bag dragon in doctor's clothes. I knew that the shot he was trying to give me was poison, but my parents wouldn't believe me. Then the next thing I know I'm running though this BIG room with a big like, olympic sized pool in the middle and there are arcade games along the walls and they shot at me, but I never got hurt. The end, lol.
