Usually my recall is ok, but over the last few days...MY GOD IT'S POOR. Since I had an LD last week, I remember like 5 seconds of each dream...AND to make it worse, I had a dream where I was browsing books about lucid dreaming and I still did not get lucid. Sometimes, I only remember snippets of dreams days later, not good.
Yea man I know this state. It sometimes takes months to get back into it.
Very important is motivation and excitement. Try to go through your goals and try to concentrate even more but be careful. I found out that sometimes man needs a brake or just to be more relaxed instead of repeating mantras and focusing too much. Just let it naturally come back ^^
I've been going through this.
I'll go months with vivid dreams, lucid dreams, extremely detailed dream recall. I'd be having four or five dreams a night, and recall each one with confidence and detail.
And then, two or three months where dreams are fuzzy and distant, and recall is horrible to impossible. Which is the state I'm in now.
For me, it seems to be something that just happens. I have noticed that a change in location, such as sleeping at a friends or a hotel, always leads to incredible dream control, and some weird dreams, for me at least. Usually I just relax, read about lucid dreams and get inspired, and make subtle alterations to change things up in my sleeping patterns.
Er, dream journal?
Not sure if you are even practicing that, but probably a good idea to start.
Recall is the most important part of lucid dreaming for all stages of lucid dreamers.
Beginner, intermediate, or advanced, recall is one of the most important fundamentals of lucid dreaming.
A dream journal is a beautiful thing, not sure if you actually have one or not, and putting time and dedication into it will reward nicely.
Thanks for all your responses, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I have a dream journal :D I used to remember 2 to 3 dreams per night. I can see how many dreams contain a particular dream character, theme, location, emotion and object thanks to the bit of software I use, but AHHHHHHH, dry spell...Any other tips? :)
Never had a problem with dream recall. Just the continuous act of writing my dreams down each morning gives me 100% confidence to know that I will always remember at least a dream for the night. I have to say though, whenever I am sleep deprived I know that there's the possibility I might not recall any dream whatsoever for that night. However, if I go to sleep early it's a guarantee that I will remember my dreams. Like, just the night before, I went to sleep early and woke up every two hours to jot down my dreams. I tend to say these in each of my posts but, it's true, sleep is fundamental for any dream practice related.
Interesting. After an LD i may have two or three dry days. I think there is a recharge going on.
