Thread: dream screams

Having trouble screaming in a dream, at least in times of danger, is quite common. It is probably related to having difficulty running in such sitiuations. There are a couple of theories that I know of as to why this happens. One says that it is a reaction to fear and anxiety while dreaming. The other says that sleep paralysis prevents our physical bodies from moving, and some of this transfers to our dream bodies.

i was doing WILD this afternoon and one of my HI dream sequences involved me lying in bed, then my mom comes in my room and says something and then her voice changes into some dark scary guys voice and i triy to calling out to her before she closes my door to leave but only a very quiet voice came out. virtually nothing. i thought it was weird and tried to talk again and something sort of came out, but then i woke up. it did feel a little nightmarish, which may be why i couldnt yell.

just this morning i had a dream where there were aliens (or atleast i believed it to be aliens) surrounding me. i tried to scream and nothing came out. i strained and strained and then realized that it was a dream and used it to become lucid, though it faded quickly.
